Brentford manager Uwe Rosler chasing Everton FC Jake Bidwell

“David Moyes is now on holiday. They know we are very keen, but you can't push everything in the first three or four weeks — good things come to those who wait.

“But I have said all along that most of the time we bring players in on loan we want to sign permanently, as we have seen with Adam Forshaw and Harlee Dean, because we don't want to keep starting from scratch.â€￾

Was looking class before a red card and an injury....

A lot of people on here have very short memories.

TBH I never bought into the hype, he always looked the big strong lad who dominated in youth set ups.

I remember people using phrases like "the new Beckenbauer" and thinking yeah, they both played at Goodison early in their careers the only difference is 21 yr old Beckenbauer was already a leading light in world football!!

Understandably people's blue tints come on at the mere mention of a youth player but as I said previously Moyes isn't convinced.

If you were honestly expecting him to really be the new Beckenbauer before he's even a man it's more on you than him that he isn't. Moyes fancies him enough to start him almost every time he's fit and rushed him back from injury too.

He's a full England international before he's 21. How many players in the history of the game can say that?

He's got a lot to learn and to add to his game but the other joke from across the park wasn't a regualr at his age and played RB a fair bit too.

Read what I said before you accuse ME of saying he was the new kaiser.

My original point is other than Hibbo, Ossie and Rooney we ain't had any youth players come through and establish themselves.

You admit he ain't a regular even when fit - it speaks for itself.

Fair do's perhaps I should have said you made an unfair comparison.

I read it and you made a direct comparison of him and Franz. If you didn't expect him to reach those heights why did you compare them? Nobody's ever compared Victor to pele which would be a similar thing to do.

Also, I didn't admit he's not a regular at all. I said he almost always starts when fit (that's a regular to me) and he was rushed back from injury to play too.

Hello chaps,

I havent been on here for a while but thought i would pop in to see how your all doing, and whether or not you lot will be kind enough to give us Jake on loan for the season.

Having flicked through the posts on here it doesnt seem that Jake is that highly rated. I think coming to Brentford last season perhaps has saved his Everton career, i think he was going to be undoubtedly released by you, but many good performances for us has perhaps earned him a new deal. He has been really good for us and seems comfortable in L1 for such a young inexperienced bloke, he is capable of playing our style of football which involves our full backs getting forward wherever possible. I think he needs another season in L1 (hopefully with us) before he could step up to the Championship but i have no doubt he could eventually play in the Prem if he continues to progress as he has done. We would love to have him permanently but a season long loan would also be great.

If i had to pick between Forshaw or Bidwell i would prefer us to have got Bidwell. Do you guys no whether he has signed a new deal with you and whether he is coming on loan to us or anyone else? Cheers

Nice to get your opinion here steve. i like the boy and hope he comes through. i do think he does need another season on loan so why not you lot again?

Well Garbutt looks closer to the first team than Bidwell currently, so could see Bidwell out on loan again possibly, depends what Moyes plans are for him.

Thats the general opinion at Brentford. The 1st team is probably out of his reach for the next season or 2 at least so it would be great to have him back. Our promotions chances will get a massive boost if we have him at left back this season whether that is a permanent deal or on loan.

Will be fantastic for Tranmere

Im not an expert on Tranny but from an Everton point of view a spell with the Bees would probably be better for his development. We have a manager who wants to pass the ball and play proper football and we perhaps have slightly higher ambitions and resources than they have at Tranmere.

Nobody insults the super white army and lives.

Ideally I'd like to see him move up a level.

:) i didnt mean it as an insult, my point was that if Tranny are only planning on finishing mid table whereas we are pushing for promotion then it would make sense from an Everton point of view for him to come to us.

Not quite sure he is ready to move up yet, or at least he wouldnt play as regularly in the Championship as he would for a L1 club. He may hold his own in the Championship but perhaps would be a back up and only get say 15 games. At Brentford he would get 40 games if he stays fit.

I joke I joke. Appreciate the information Mr Steve. You seem very keen to take him back.
