Jags on the bench for final

Certainly looked like you were referring to Yobo what with saying 'without Jag'. Is Jag the only 1 committed to tackles? Are you disrespecting the whole side now as well. Really dont get were your coming from with that comment.
As for your stats, i have no idea where you have got them from. Yobo has made 23 league appearences and 1 sub appearence, he has also made a further 3 appearences in cups with another 2 subs appearences

Ever heard of a 50/50 tackle - where both players (from opposing sides) go in for a ball and have a 50/50 chance of getting the ball. Thats what im on about. I would have thought Jagielkas injury would have acted like a wake up call to the Everton players, meaning they dont go in for them challenges as much - as not to risk injury - therefore shifting the ratio of tackles won to 70/30 to the opposition.

Im quite clearly not saying that as Jagielka has gone we dont tackle as much.

No disrepect aimed at any players but each individual have better strengths than others. Arteta is clearly our best player but in terms of central defenders, most Evertonians would agree that in order of rating, Jagielka is the better, Lescott is 2nd and Yobo 3rd. Yobo however is an excellent replacement for Jags.

Correctomundo. And do you understand the concept of 50/50 challenges?

Fair enough, just sounding like you were saying jag was the only 1 commited to a challenge but i see were your coming from now. I don't think Moyes would let them shirk a challenge though

True, but every player must be thinking of avoiding injury subconsciously.

I understand the concept of 50/50s in terms of it means both of the challenging players give every effort into winning the ball. Those who put less effort in 50/50 challenges tend to be ones that endure injuries.

Ehm well i certainly wouldnt, Lescott is top for me. Its a tough call to be fair, Jags has had a better season but he hasn't done it consistently over the years like Yobo has yet.

Ha ha listen to us, we have to many international quality defenders, bring back Steve Watson damn it.

Sharp was asked that question on the radio. He reckons no chance and it wont affect them

Moyes has one of two options, he can either wrap his players in cotton wool or if he plays them, he must expect them to be commited. He is likey to go for the first option and ask the lads to take one game at a time and put the Cup Final to the ack of their minds. What we dont need is for players needlessly going into wreckless challenges akin to those that Vaughan tends to go in for and of course picking up silly yellow/red cards.

Opinion respected. (y)

I'm aware of that & I still stand by it, I also got an infraction for it which I think was fair enough but it'll be a cold day in hell when I think someone is being a prick & don't let them know it

Your entitled to your opinion and your sentimental pity for jag but i am equally entitled to my opinion without getting insulted for it

Also, it's not just who is the best defender, it's which players are best for the team - i.e. who works best with who as a partnership in central defence. It's been proven beyond resonable doubt that our best partnership is Jags/Lescott, although I rate Jags/Lescott/Yobo all very similar in terms of defensive ability.
Likewise, Baines & Pienaar are undoubtedly the best for us down the left. Other areas I'm not too sure about TBH.
