Because the fans on this forum are the best judges of his ability.
Please sign another davek so we can have a proper discussion and not the usual diatribe.
He's done and dusted. Dont make it into being about me. Look at the poll up there: of those who address the issue seriously twice as many consider him to be a calamity rather than an asset. I doubt there's another ex-Everton captain held in less esteem than this churchmouse who has the armband right now.

Jagielka is still our best centre back and most consistent player. Just because you have an ill-considered hatred of him it doesn't make you right.
Negative views are far easier to stick on forums though.

3 years of Moshiri & people forget 30 years of austerity Everton. John Spencer, Marc Hottiger & at least 60 others I’d rather forget have worn the Everton shirt...

Jagielka came in from Sheffield Utd for not much. He quickly became one of Moyes best pieces of business. He made Lescott look better than he was (defensively). He captained us to an FAC semi win & stood up to score the winning penalty. Did a great job on Drogba in the final. OK, we lost against abramovic’s millions, but still a fantastic effort. In terms of value for money, there’s not that many have given us more.

It’s not his fault the club hasn’t recruited better in the last 5 years, as he’s passed his peak!
didnt he do his cruciate before the final

I'll guarantee you know the difference between a good one and a bad one.
Bad ones generally get found out and dropped pretty quickly ....and not by the Military leadership above them
Being appointed in a leadership position is one thing
Being accepted by those who you lead is another thing altogether and longevity in the role is a sure sign that his quietly effective leadership is key to the rest of the playing staff

"Ill considered". It's very considered actually. As said, try not to make it about me. There are plenty of other people who view him as a terrible captain and a player of now questionable ability.

No he isn’t. Don’t know where this myth is coming from. He’s atrocious at this stage.
Jagielka has a lot of people kidded on the basis of a few half games of football per season where he puts a few last ditch blocks in that he's 'the best we have'. The stark truth is that this feller wouldn't get on the bench of any of the teams in the top 6 in the last 2 seasons, and he wouldn't get on the Burnley bench either....but he's ok for us.

I swear to God some people want us to be atrocious forever: an old players' home.

He has to make them last minute blocks because it’s usually him that misplaces the pass that puts us under pressure. Not to mention, 9/10 of them block attempts end up in him fouling the player and giving away either a free kick in a dangerous area or a penalty, along with picking up a booking.

He’s just awful. He’s an embarrassment of a player that clings onto us because we’ve been a easy ride for so many years.

He's perpetrating a huge con on the fans. He's clearly not up to being a player for a team that has any sort of defensive credibility. But I blame the club most of all. WTF are Brands and Silva doing sanctioning the continuation of this feller at a club like this? It beggars belief they've arrived here and thought that it's a good idea to have him knocking about in any capacity, much less a player who'll get games and remain the club captain.

The standards at this club are absolutely shocking. Jagielka is just a symptom of how bad we've become.

You need a marching band and a trumpet
Youre never happier than when youre talking utter wham ... slagging off the club .... and gathering all the gullables with you
Hilarious
Look around the comments being made elsewhere about the club from outside the club
Why do you think a player like digne CHOSES to come here uf we area club with shocking standards and poor leadership
You really are funny

Because he's getting paid loads and will be GUARANTEED a first team place. And his agent has no doubt told him we can be his stepping stone club to a Man Utd or Arsenal etc.
