Jack Rodwell

I thank Stuart Pearce for Jack Rodwell when it comes to England aspirations. He has nurtured him in The England captains role. Made him captain of the youth etc etc

Mick Rathbone and Andy Holden are the legends though.

And do not let us forget someone.

This guy I think holds all the blame for just how good Rodwell is

"Alan Stubbs"

Alan Stubbs - Coach

Alan Stubbs joined Everton as a coach after two stints as a player in September 2008. His role is to assist Andy Holden in working with the Club's reserves, as well as assisting with the under 18 players.

When I see Rodwell play, I see Stubbs(if he was a midfielder)never panics, never gets flustered and never seems to move fast, but always there somehow. Many of you may not agree at first, but think about it.

In the Telegraph Moyes says how he imagines Rodwell being a centre back when he's 23 or 24. Needs to mature into the role though.

Are you seeing the Stubbs influence also Brucey?

You may need to take a step back to see it, but it is there.

Does anyone know when his current contract ends?
the TW match report makes it sound like he won't be staying.. new contract unsigned and all.

He's so composed for a 17 year old it's unreal to watch.

Not even Rooney was this composed, he was still quite raw while at 17.

Rodwell, is always looking for options, head up and lay it off. He's just like Carrick. I'd like him to put himself about a little bit more, i know he's only 17 but he needs to get to grips.

Great player.

I thought he put himself about well yesterday, more than he has all season. Moyes has said he's too laid back, he's starting to toughen up a bit and being more agressive.

When Villa hit it long he was dropping deeper and going up for balls with Carew, similar to what Carsley did in the 2-2 game last season. He won his fair share of headers and Lescott and Jags could just drop a little deeper and worry about Agbonlahor's pace. It worked very well I thought.

There was also a moment in the second half where he took out both Carew and then Ashley Young, I enjoyed that.

As expected I just read in the Telegraph that talks are at an advanced stage on a 5 year contract for him.

Let's hope it's not "advanced" in the sense that Moyes' contract was advanced for 4 months. We need this lad to commit, we can't afford to lose him.

Always expected Rodwell to sign, no surprise there.

Baxter though I had my doubts and sure enough he turned 17 two weeks ago and hasn't signed.

Next up one Jose Baxter.

i told you all i wasnt worried in the summer! b)

I remember that.

You really infuriated me sometimes when in the face of total shiteness you claimed you weren't worried at all and knew we would come good.

Oh how i wanted to prove you wrong and point and laugh at you when we finished 14th!

:D

I still don't know how you managed to do it but it looks like you were right. Everyone has stepped up after a dodgy start and proved me wrong.

Especially young lads like Rodwell and Gosling.

I will never doubt you again lol (y)
