2025/26 Jack Grealish

How do we know he’s drunk?
We don’t for certain.

However since he was in a bar it seems a logical conclusion especially in light of statements he himself has made.

“People say, 'He likes to party.' And I do. I want to be able to live my life too and enjoy it, but there’s a time and a place for that.
I’ll be honest: I probably didn’t choose the right moments. Sometimes, at City, for example, I didn’t help myself.”

I say it with no malice at all Bry, he seems a lovely, genuine lad but I do worry about his apparent drinking for his own health as much as anything.

Akin to moaning about Lukaku's first touch and how we'd spread the goals around, this.

Grealish doesn't have pace to inject over 10 yards?! SHOCKER.

The difference between Lukaku and Grealish is that the former was in his pomp here and scoring for fun - and assisting with a lot of goals; Grealish is a fading star and we shouldn't be fawning over him and his declining talents. Dont get me wrong, I like what he does when it comes off and I like that type of player - and yes, a better LB alongside him would be an advantage - but he's way past his best and we need to be building for the future.

Handing a contract to Grealish and paying a decent fee would be prime Kenwright. If we're heading down that route with the new transfer management team we're doomed.

Maybe if he had a half decent player behind him helping then it would be quicker and better, but seeing as we have the worst left back in the prem playing that's the problem same on the other sides the full backs are killing us.

That can be seen in two ways:

Mykolenko doesn't hand JG a lot of help going forward; but his defensive abilities mean that Grealish can largely stop in the opposition half / halfway line.

I've seen Mykolenko a few times (not much) overlap and the pass didn't come.

More importantly though is that Grealish has no ability to inject a bit of pace over 10 yards to make the room to swing a cross in.

He pointedly never attempts that and always turns back or passes inside to KDH / Garner.

We're missing a trick here and it really should be Ndiaye down that left hand side and Dibling should have been brought through now on the right - and probably would have been under any other manager than this King Herod we have.

Neither Jack, KHD or Garner will pass the ball to Mykolenko on the odd occasion that he does overlap as, non of them trust him do anything with the ball other than give the ball away and the attack to break down / leave the team exposed to a counter.

If you actually watched what the players where doing on the pitch, rather than looking for nonsense to moan about - the pitch not fitting, Ninja wind turbines, the smell, death crush zones, the wrong style of pointing, the lack of Everton stuff around the ground, fried mars bars etc - take your pick, you might actually notice a pattern, that our more creative players and better players, play around Myolenko, rather than involve him.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Its focusing on what players dont have as the be all, rather than what they do have.

If we ever played him in the middle it might be different but playing slower players, no matter how good they are, on the wing is something most top teams in the PL don’t tend to do.

Drop Gueye out the team and he could slot in as the right side 8 next to KDH both in front of Garner easily. Then we could play genuine wide players.

Inatead though we’ll remain the only team in the league who’s single attacking trick is to spring a left back who can’t cross a ball into space. Moyes is forever trying to recreate Baines and Pienaar. It only worked to a certain extent back then but we don’t have a Leighton Baines and are unlikely to ever find one so I’d rather just play a wide flyer who will get double digit goals, is a threat on the counter, and can actually press effectively.

I like Jack but dont think he is that great to be honest and we haven't missed him that much have we?, bit too slow for the wing, holds the ball well but that means slowing the play down too. I would like to see him tried as a no 10 / playmaker and would take him on a cut price deal with lower wages.

It makes sense to me to play him inside because he can protect the ball and lay it off to runners, and at the very least he can earn a lot of free kicks in dangerous areas.

However...1/ I dont think Moyes wants anyone who cant get behind the ball and graft in the middle of the park all game; 2/ JG doesn't look like he'd enjoy tackles coming in from all angles, which is what he'd get playing inside. - always looks like he's protecting his legs to me, and that's easier done out wide.

I thought he was passed to a lot the last game, maybe too much. I remember this because of his numerous over hit crosses
