2025/26 Jack Grealish

We should have him here on a 3 year contract. Having him around completely changes our team and also will help attract players. Honestly enjoying this season's everton so much.

Why do you think Grealish would help to attract players, being close to 31 and out of the England squad.

What level of player do you think he'd help attract?

Very reliable for City but as much as I like Grealish, this seems a lot of money. On top of big wages and you would assume at least a 3year deal, its a massive outlay.

£15mil would make more sense with City taking a small hit on his book value.

Give them first option at £100m for Branthwaite as long as they give us Jack for £25m.

Id rather not.

George/Grealish
Dibling/Ndiaye

On paper looks very promising. In reality with Moyes its not going to be helpful to the two younger players.

i miss him watching him

only him and james in my 26 years of watching everton are the two ‘guaranteed’ players

you expected something to happen when they got the ball, they were dangers automatically to the opposition

hope he heals up and its our first piece of business in the summer

and when he comes back he lets the hair flow

I want him back 100% but I wouldn't be comfortable paying 40 million for someone who's be 32 next season.

20 - 25 tops.

Can't imagine the ownership and the board would be to happy either.

Better ones than we've been able to attract recently

He's a legitimate star and gives the club some pull. And more media

Which helps on a lot of fronts

Interesting he’s signed off with UTFT considering he’s already played his last game for us under this arrangement.
Probably reading too much into it but I’m taking that as it’s a done deal for next season.

I wouldn't say done deal. I see it as a player who knows his next contract is possibly his last & he's currently in a hospital bed feeling a little low about his situation so he's doing anything he can to show love, support & gratitude to help keep the 'dream' alive of joining us permanently next season. He's probably a little nervous of the signing on loan of George too & how that pans out for us.
I like Jack. So long as his recovery is straight forward & the number doesn't go above £30m ish I would still bring him here. He seems good around the squad, Moyes clearly likes him & he does add some gravitas to Everton. More eyes usually equals more income.

I wonder when the injury occurred, what particular match or a tackle or wear and tear or training. I know he mentioned he'd felt it for 5/6 weeks, if he'd told anyone then, how avoidable could a season out have been?

Lots of questions, gutted for him.

Stress fractures are typically wear and tear injuries, not impact injuries.

I'd be onboard with a permanent transfer, but nowhere near 50, maybe half that. I think the George deal tells us there are talented players out there who are younger and have potential (20 minutes isn't enough to form an opinion, but he had a good run in Europe with Chelsea). The younger players may never become Grealish in his prime, but neither will a 32 year old Grealish.

I’ve heard Moyes stamped on it in training 4 weeks ago after Jack megged him while he was trying to coach Dibling in defensive positioning.
Dibling was ROFL and that’s why he hasn’t played him since too.

Agreed. I think he gutted through an injury. Lad's a gamer that wants to play football.

Some guys are looking for ways to get paid and gets a rest when they aren't 100%. Jack strikes me as someone who will try to play if he feels he can. And he was really incentivized to play as well and get the move he wanted in the summer as well as try to make the England squad.

Just bad luck all around. If he was in a different situation and had played more the last 2 seasons, he'd probably have in more of a position to feel comfortable taking a break.

40m on a 30 year old well past his best adding in 150k+ a week in wages is pure madness

Spend the money on a RB / LB which we've been crying out for what seems an eternity
