Hes probably sold more shirts since hes been here than most of the squad put together
Yeah well perhaps you could name a 30+ year old player sold for £30mil?
Didnt think so. Maybe you're the weird one to think its normal or good to pay 2 times the book value of a teams unwanted player.

i reckon we negotiate around 20-25m for him or another loan
we are not spending 50
city will want him off the books, he will hopefully want to come unless things go downhill from here
He can't come on loan again.
Why?
In theory, depending how desperate they are to get him off the books, they could do a Gareth Barry type deal with us, where we loan him again next season and then have to pay a fee of some sort if he signs for us permanently after that.Because his contract runs out in 2027 - they wouldn't loan him then he leaves on a free.
He's infinitely better when KDH is in the team as he has someone on his wavelength he can interchange with, a good attacking left back would take that to another levelHe's great to have and a literal game changer, but our team isn't setup to fit his talents at all currently (and in some cases he's reluctant to let go of the ball like a normal person and instead goes for some bizarre attempts).
50m is definitely steep, but we're currently spending a lot of money on crap anyway, and he's definitely a good player.
Is it better if we invest 50m wisely on more than 1 player who can come in and do a good job now and improve in the future? Yes, no-brainer.
Will we? Recent history says 'definitely not'. We're probably buying Grealish and no right backs or actual strikers.

Tend to doubt that though as the figures involved are much greater than the Barry one
could just go elsewhere and they get squat.Because his contract runs out in 2027 - they wouldn't loan him then he leaves on a free.
