2025/26 Jack Grealish

Top player and I'd even go as far as saying that I'd take him over Rodrigues if I was given an ultimatum.
At times I think he could be a little more selfish and letting fly when he cuts in on the edge of the box.

The one disappointing thing I see is every time he draws 2-3 defenders onto the wing he plays that pass back in and 80% of the time it always finds Idrissa who is terrible at letting fly or picking a killer pass. If that pass was consistently played to a Ndiaye, KDH, Garner, Alcaraz we could nearly triple our half chances with either a shot or a square/diagonal ball in to the striker or RW. Then it would make it harder for an opposition to send extra numbers across to close Grealish down giving him a bit more freedom.

That is my only criticism of his and our play in general. I think he needs to try to beat full backs on the outside a bit more and find a more creative player, more often, in those passes to the edge of the area. The second one is obviously not down to him directly.

I think it has been an absolute dream partnership and everything has fallen right in getting a hungry, talented player with the personality that rubs off on the fans and his teammates alike.

Actually I think he needs to cut in a bit more and influence the middle of the park a bit more. Get counter attack more organized etc. We need more attacking power around the #10 area. Our wingers are isolated more of the time (the only time they made a direct connection we got a goal).

And at times he needs to act quicker and plays the chess ahead of his maker. But it will come with game time and more and more training with the team.

Start him at the 10, Ndiaye left, Dibling right, just to see how it looks.

I'd love to see that, with Ndiaye and Grealish rotating 10 and left wing. Alcaraz as the back-up.
Longer term, could KDH be a centre-mid? I think he mentioned being a box-to-box midfielder when he joined. Him and Rohl/Gana, with Garner as the right back. Aznou slotting in as left back and JOB and Branthwaite as centre backs. Dunno, that looks like a good team to me, but I'm sure there are all sorts of reasons why this wouldn't work... But anyway, we just have to hope that Barry comes good soon and that Aznou is up to it.

Pretty much every game KDH has played for us so far he's started in the 10 and been pretty average, then later on in games he drops deeper and plays so much better.

If he continues his good form throughout the season and we can get his fee down to about £30m-ish then we'd be daft to not pursue it.

Still reckon we should seriously be thinking of switching up to a 4-3-3 at some point. Suits him and can suit us with the players we've been bringing in.

He's a very good player, lets not go overboard tough, its a long season and nothing is achieved in Sep.

Hes made a difference, but i expect that for 200k a week.

We need to adjust to him being in the side, not be so telegraphed and learn how to use space and others around him.

We've been good for him and vice versa.

On the one hand you want to give him his space, on the other hand someone like KDH or Ndiaye needs to get a bit closer to him to be an option.

very pleasantly surprised how quick he's settled in. I never posted but I did have the same concerns as Moyes, like did he still have the hunger and determination to start his career again. It's a trap we've fallen into in the past and it cost us big.

However He's not only settled quickly, he's showing the sort of quality that made city pay £100m.

I hope it continues because with Ndiaye and Grealish on the wings we are actually a dangerous attacking team and my god don't we deserve it at long last. The last few years almost killed me off as a supporter of the game. It is still broken but at least the footy is pretty enjoyable for once.
