Jack Butland

Both are well better than Howard. Foster dominates his area and communicates well with his defence. If Butland ends up as good as him and with us I'd be more than happy.

With what you'd pay for him and the amount of time he's got left in his career it'd be a good move.
I would be devastated if Foster came anywhere near Everton. Howard is without doubt better than Foster. But i agree tim doesn`t dominate his area well especially at corners.

What part of "he's not in form" in my post did you not understand? Just because I say he's not a crap GK and always has been doesn't mean I can't recognize his form right now. And what's interesting to me and shows it's form is that it has carried over to his national team, where he's usually a stand-out but has looked shaky of late.

Yeah, he made the save, bailing his back line out.

Bottom line: Mucha is not replacing him. Howard > Mucha. Until we have someone else that is a reasonable replacement, he's not going anywhere. I also think there are positions we need more than GK. Do we need competition for him right now? Yeah, I think that's totally fair based on his current form. Do I think we need another DM and striker more? Yes.

That's the difference.

You can sack off being condescending for one thing.
No one on here has said he's a crap player. But he's been crap this season, bar 1 game.

Basically what you are saying is as we can't replace him atm there isn't much point in commenting on his poor form/a viable replacement?
Bit unfair to say that Mucha wouldn't be better than Howard in his current form, as Mucha hasn't done a lot wrong bar one mistake in the Chelsea game. And as he's played so few games hard to say whether or not he's good enough.

True. But with development he'll be more a Hart than Foster I think.

Incidentally I'd take Foster too. Great keeper.

Foster ability wise is a good keeper, but he is prone to lapses in concentration if not kept busy.

It's probably the reason Man U persevered with him for a bit before selling him on. In a team like United's he's not going to be called in to action anywhere near as much as he does at West Brom.

People are saying he's a crap player if you read back through the posts.

I absolutely did not say you cannot comment. Perhaps you could read my post back to Goat saying that his points were 100% fair and I couldn't disagree with the majority of them.

Moyes doesn't trust Mucha since he has played so few games. So he's not an option apparently.

As for the bolded comment, thanks for insulting me. Won't return the favor.

Foster before Howard any day of the week for me... Tim has been great for us for the past few years but he's been making lots of mistakes of late and I think the defence have lost a bit of confidence in him........... also, any team in the league know that if they shoot from 40 yards out against us and it's on target chances are it will fly into the back of the net.

I think Foster is more prone to a calamity than Howard. Thats why his England career went down the drain.

His England career never went down the drain mate. He jibbed it cos he was never going to be no.1 and it was affecting his family life.

I don't see how you can say that when Howard has cost us a lot of points this season and for the past few.

I'd seriously give Jan the man a run of games at this point.

Not going to trawl through the comments looking for the quotes but if that's the case i'm sure they're just referring to his current form because no one in their right mind thinks he's crap. But in lousy form (which has been the case for a while now...)

But you seem to dismiss people who have slated him or looking for replacements. Fair enough though.

Well we all know Moyes isn't always correct.

Wasn't an insult. You made a condescending comment so I pointed it out.

I don't thnk he's crap but we could still do better, even with our limited funds.

On the subject of reserve goalies - it's noticeable how well they do when they get the chance. Begovic at Stoke, Mignolet at Sunderland, Tremmel at Swansea, Krul at Newcastle.... even at the pigsty there hasn't been a noticeable drop in standard in Reina's absence.

Not so much Mannone at Arsenal thought tbf.

Perhaps it is time to give Mucha his opportunity.

I don't mean to Mucha bout but Howard you like it if you were reserve goalie and the first choice was basically undroppable?
