I've let my players down by not strengthening the squad, admits Everton boss Moyes

'There are all sorts of reasons for it and some must remain private. But there aren’t many clubs looking to sell players at the moment, and certainly some people who have been brokering deals for us have let us down quite badly.’

Interesting and very worrying. I think it's clear that we've missed out on a few of our targets and are now looking at fallbacks. Moutinho-Tiago for example.

I think he might be talking about Love and Moutinho, the press did say that he was angry at Love not coming here, because a deal was almost sorted.

well thats it, for Moyes to come out and say this, it is getting quite obvious that mountino, love, and any top quality players are pipe dreams and we are pushing [Poor language removed] up hill to get anyone at all. I've tried to stay positive but seriously, its now beyond a joke. Lets hope the young fellas can step up, if not finishing in the top 1/2 may be quite a struggle.:(

It does sound like Tiago has agreed to join us in principle...I won't hold me breath then!

Simple fact with Mountinho is the Lions want at least £17.5m for him and unless we cough up, we're not getting him, end of...

Maybe I should be saying this on another thread, but what irks me, is the lack of communications(little snippets here 'n' there)coming out of everyone including Mr Moyes...

And as for Mr Billy Kenwit....leading us all on a wild goose chase!....

So we're just pretty damn unlucky then? Moyes tried his hardest but clubs and players didnt want to know and agents [Poor language removed] us about?

At least its offering an explanation for the situation. Why can we not get the players we want though? Are we really that tight on money we just cant afford to pay to get anyone worth having or for some reason do players not really wanna come here.

I think money is an issue now maybe w did over stretch ourselves last summer spending big like we did but lets hope the lads can do the job tomorrow and then be laid down on a bed of feathers till the next match

Everton spent feckall last year, WTF on you on about?

The club would never come out and say look lads we spent so much last season and have had to pay some of it out of this years cash so its tighten your belts time It was always going to be someone else's fault like the agent saying Love was available on loan But why oh [Poor language removed] why did we wait so long before finding out it was wrong.our club is being run like a second rate brothel not that I know how a brothels run:(

I kinda agree with what your saying but, given the progress the team has made under DM, you would have thought we be now seeing the fruits of that progress.....

Off the top of my head i can think of yak,baines,jags..cant recall how much they added up to but well over the 20 mill mark so it was far from feck all as you put it

Thats what i'm on about

well at least we have a very classy manager , who wants the best for everton...he is our most important signing...imo

Yup frankly i think alot of peoples nerves would have been calmed if DM would have just put pen to paper on his contract becuase like you say he's a class act

'Moyes has faith' on the OS but then 'has let my players down' on the Daily Mail website.. if thats being reported in order.. yup it sounds worrying.

If its the other way round it's still worrying.. faith is all he has left.

If no one else is coming in.. lets put the cash on the table for Moutinho or Love. These are the only ones for me who really meet the mark.
