It's sickening me still we conceded 3 goals against palace. Defo a tough tough pill to swallow should we lose out…

If we win our last 3 games and STILL don't finish 4th, I won't blame it on the Palace game. Winning 12 games in a row would have been a gargantuan task for anybody, you always get freak results somewhere along the way. Getting smashed by Liverpool hurt us a lot more than the Palace game.

I still think we just need 7 points from our last 9 to do it.

Come on. Beat Hull and take 4 points from the City/Southampton games. 76 points would be an unbelievable haul.
 
Regardless of whether we get fourtj it bodes well to be posting these numbers in Robertos first season. A lack of a dominant behemoth in the league has led to a bunching of the top sides which has allowed Liverpool to come out on top but has meant the bar for fourth is very high. In most other years we'd be in already. Typical Everton that. If we replicate this form next year though and Wenger and Moyes are still around we'll be in the mix again no question.

I guess. You could look at the Derby, the 0-1 defeat to Sunderland, the last minute goal v Chelski etc, essentially its all conjecture, no point working out where we would be had we won etc

As you say, 7 points from last 3 would be a massive points haul and probably in seasons past be good enough for Champs league spot. Just depends which Arsenal turn up to their remaining games.
 
It really is hard not to speculate on results of other teams and generally ends up doing my head in. That said if we had been offered 8 wins over our last nine games going into Southampton would have been over the moon . Pointless to bemoan the Palace result , they are playing out of their skin at the mo , this should be all about us SAVOURING the joy of contesting MEANINGFUL games at the business end of the season in our new manager's first season . Phk the others we are boss and only getting bosser , I salivate at the thought of next season and we will fear no team , quite the reverse!
