Have to say that this sort of rhetoric is deeply troubling on many levels.
1) There's the lack of sophisticated understanding that people of multiple ethno-religious backgrounds inhabited the region historically
2) ignoring the need to perhaps reflect on what is needed pragmatically today and getting beyond past ills (hard, but needed)
3) the whiff of the sort of nasty right wing nationalist rhetoric about rights and belonging that has been the source of so much poison and pain elsewhere.
