Sorry for repeating myself but studies have shown that the DNA of a big percentage of the Palestinian population, and a significant percentage of the Israeli one, have DNA that is broadly consistent with the long-term occupants of the area. They may even be before the Israelite conquest talked of in the Bible. They were probably at one time or another polytheists, Jews, Christians and Muslims.

It is their land, if it is anyone's. Dispossessing them, or a significant amount of them, is offensive.

The Munich Olympics massacre was one of the major reasons for me becoming more sympathetic to Israel. There was Palestinian terrorist organizations pre Hamas as well remember!

I wouldn't say that people are celebrating the Israeli people being kidnapped and murdered etc on here, but there is widespread apathy and indifference.

Good post. Maybe I'm wrong, but I find the notion of anyone taking modern day land due to an ancient claim to be absolutely insane. Especially in the 21st century. It's totally irrelevant who lived on a piece of land 2000 years ago. This land is the actual home of millions of people who have tangible roots to the place. It makes me sick to the stomach when you see the likes of Jill and Bob from up state New York illegally occupying it. It is totally mental and illogical.

I've done a DNA test and I've compared my sample to ancient samples. One of them is with a Pict who died in c 550AD. If I were to rock up in Northern Scotland and kick someone out of their home I'd be put in prison and/or sectioned!
