As has been stated in here by other posters, the IDF have been attacking UNIFIL intermittently for years. I don’t recall seeing you or others protesting then?

Let’s have a bit of consistency here. As for the rest of the world doing their bit, I think you’ll end up disappointed. Israel has levelled Gaza and killed tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, yet the world (for the most part) has stayed distant, shook its head, wagged its finger and imposed limited sanctions on Israel. So if you think they’ll do anything major in relation to the attacks on UNIFIL then I’d say you’re living in la-la land.
I think it could be a turning point though. Countries that were silently in disagreement with the way the Israel are behaving will slowly become more vocal in response to recent incidents

I hope so. But it shouldn’t be left to individual countries to stand up against Israel it’s the useless UN that really needs to get a grip here after all that’s part of their reason for existing. They need to speak and act decisively as one voice, however with the US in the mix the reality is nothing much will happen.

Exactly the UN won't act and become obsolete in the process. Which is exactly what Putin, Netanyahu, Trumpers etc all want anyway.

Sorry, what? I have been fairly consistent on what I think of how the Israeli state behaves ever since I started posting here.

In terms of these attacks, I think what you are missing is that this - an attack on the UN system itself - is much more likely to affect any country's interests than a distant (or not so distant) genocide is. If these attacks on UNFIL continue / get worse then there will be a reaction from a lot of countries and it will be greater than we have seen so far.

The UN is broken. Controlled by US, China and Russia. It would take the US to cut-away Israel for it be effective in anyway and I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

The likely scenario is the US will have a chat with Israel, tell them to stop it. In return Israel will demand new supplies of arms and ammo from the US and new favourable trade deals to sell its tech in US markets.

And so it goes on.

These people are maniacs

Israel has ordered more evacuations in southern Lebanon and threatened to target ambulances, as a third UN peacekeeper was wounded in Israel’s escalating conflict with Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah.

Israel’s military on Saturday ordered residents of 23 southern Lebanese villages to evacuate to areas north of the Awali River, which flows from the western Bekaa valley into the Mediterranean.

The order, communicated via a military statement, mentioned villages in southern Lebanon that have been recent targets of Israeli attacks, many of which are already almost empty.

The Israeli military also claimed on Saturday, without providing any evidence, that Hezbollah militants were using ambulances to transport themselves and weapons and called on medical teams to “avoid dealing with Hezbollah operatives and not to cooperate with them”.

The Lebanese health ministry said on X on Saturday that five hospitals had sustained damage from the Israeli airstrikes in the eastern city of Baalbek and the Bekaa valley. The Israeli military had no immediate comment, and it was not possible to independently verify the hospital strikes.

The Guardian has previously reported that at least 50 paramedics have been killed since Israel launched its most recent attacks on Lebanon
