Iran is behind Hezbollah, Hamas and multiple other terror groups.

The Iranian leadership are religious extremists.

Look at what they do to their own population...especially the women.

Because ISIS is evil...it doesnt mean those other terror groups fighting them are less so.

Israel taking out a significant number of Hezbollah and Hamas targets does not end anything...wiping them off the planet is the only thing necessary.

To do so would mean that Lebanon themselves would need to target the Hezbollah groups -- but they wont do that because they approve of them.

Its not all black and white.

I think the world is quite black and white. If you fight ISIS (instead of siding with them as the West and Israel did) then you deserve praise not condemnation.

That probably makes me some woeful person to the British state, the same people that armed the "moderate Sunnis" of Al Nusra front. I'll wear that as a badge of honor frankly.

The region was always fractious even in Biblical times, but nearly all the problems we have today ultimately stem from the creation of the state of Israel, or more correctly how the state of Israel came into being. It was possible to do things differently (De Haan called for the community to work with the locals, before they killed him) and it’s even possible to do that now - albeit not with the current regime.

People are supporting innocent civilians who are currently being massacred by a fascist regime, not supporting Hamas or Hezbollah.

It’s an indictment on some that our support for all innocent civilians is twisted into support for terror and murder. The irony is sadly lost on them.

Quite a few Irish soldiers ensconced in Lebanon with the UN peace keeping force. A number of support staff as well, who have spent weeks more or less underground. The soldiers, of course, don't have that "luxury" and are still on patrols.

They have come under attack and have been killed by both IDF and Hezbollah in the past. They would be on the front line of any ground assault from either side of the border.
