The region was always fractious even in Biblical times, but nearly all the problems we have today ultimately stem from the creation of the state of Israel, or more correctly how the state of Israel came into being. It was possible to do things differently (De Haan called for the community to work with the locals, before they killed him) and it’s even possible to do that now - albeit not with the current regime.

It's incredibly sad that Palestinians are living through a similar ordeal to yhat the Jewish people of old suffered, and ironic that the state of Israel don't want to see this. You'd think they'd be the ones to empathise. Maybe one day there'll be a holocaust like memorial in Gaza. It's all very sad.

It is incredible - giving them 12 months to continue to kill as many women and children as possible, destroy as much infrastructure and grab as much Palestinian land as they can before they are told to stop again. SO much blood on so many hands here, it really will be looked back at as an historic feck up of astronomical proportions - genocide in full view of the world
