Current Affairs Israel is an apartheid state

A thread about Israel’s treatment of Palestine and the current genocide and you decide to share another Jewish propaganda site and another act of international terrorism

Shill

Hah you have shown your true colours.

Axios is an American digital news website borne out of Politico and has nothing to do with Jews - but impressively quick of you to blame the Jews!. Media bias / fact check even say its left-center (https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/axios/). Even more so, the author Barak Ravid is pretty much hated by the Israeli right after writing for Haaretz for the majority of his life.

Only people who have their heads completely in the sand would call a country pre-emptively striking an underground missile making facility in another country that was built and manned by a third country who seeks to destroy it an international act of terrorism. Open your eyes - even a tenth of a millimetre - you may learn something that may actually contribute to peace rather than spouting rubbish like shill and coward on repeat.

You’ve never once referenced the genocide, today’s UN workers killed for instance m, instead you opt for Israeli terrorism via a propaganda sight

The world is watching and you’ve dropped a very public, racist clanger in siding with the genocide

Just like those in previous years

Sicko

Accuse someone of being a racist whilst refusing to talk about something else related to the conflict because you think its "Jewish propaganda". Go figure.

Thank you - some balance, as you have done from what I have seen since I started posting. I do reject all of those claims though.
I think there are two competing historical narratives, neither of which ought to trump the other. These people have a shared history and need to acknowledge the validity of the other's pain. There have been Jews, Muslims and Christians sharing that bit of land for as long as it matters.

Both tell lies in order to diminish the other - Palestinians characterise Israelis as European invaders, when there are almost as many Mizrahi Jews as Ashkenazi, and Israelis tell the "land without a people" lie, for instance.

However, what I am in no doubt of is that Israel is the oppressor.

Israel's actions in Gaza unarguably fulfil the first three criteria of Article Two of the UN Convention on Genocide.

A system whereby only one ethnicity in a territory is allowed to use certain roads, water sources, land etc and the other is unable to travel freely due a matrix of checkpoints controlled by the first, with the major conurbations separated from each other into four "bantustans", and have many aspects of their lives controlled by the first, is what if not apartheid?

Finally, driving whole villages to leave their homes through fear of violence is what, if not ethnic cleansing?

I suppose it's necessary to distinguish that the third is being perpetrated by settler groups rather than the state, but they are tacitly encouraged by the government and aided and abetted by the army and police.

You’ve not once engaged with the genocide - deflect and deny, rinse and repeat

We see you

I have spoken to it numerous times but you are so extreme in your view you cant see the wood from the trees and refuse to engage, and instead defer to name-calling and now a hatred of Jewish propaganda. Its tiresome and the conversation would be a better place without your constant barks of nothing.

Has Israel used disproportionate force? Yes. Genocide? No. Israel's actions in Gaza are primarily aimed at self-defence against attacks from Hamas and other militant groups, who frequently launch rockets at Israeli civilian areas and committed October 7th. Civilian casualties, while tragic, are unintended consequences of military operations targeting Hamas. Are there cases where IDF soldiers have gone further than this? Sure. Doesn't make it genocide.

In legal terms, there is no clear intent to "destroy, in whole or in part," the Palestinian people, as required by the Genocide Convention. If it wanted to, it could really do that tonight.

Refreshing by your standards.
The evidence is there though, it’s been happening for 70 years and now gone beyond.

A reminder, it’s not about Jews but Israel

Indeed - ask most Israelis whether they see a future with Palestinians they say no, ask most Palestinians whether they see a future with Israelis they will also say no. Majority of them have not engaged with the otherside to know what kind of future they want. There is no future without both populations in that land. Palestinians nor Israelis will disappear.

We can wait and see what the ICJ rule on Gaza, but for now it is not unarguable.

I'd argue that many of the measures implemented in the West Bank, such as checkpoints, the separation barrier, and restrictions on movement, are primarily for security reasons to protect Israeli citizens from attacks by militant groups, which have occurred pre and post October 7th.
