This is just wrong.
Hamas has expressed hatred towards Jews in its official documents and rhetoric. The group's founding charter, published in 1988, contains numerous anti-Semitic statements and conspiracy theories. For example, it references The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a well-known anti-Semitic forgery, and accuses Jews of controlling world events to harm Muslims.
Hamas's ideology distinguishes between Jews as a people and Zionists (supporters of the state of Israel), but its rhetoric has often blurred this line, resulting in incitement against Jews as a whole. Their propaganda and statements frequently promote hostility toward Jews, not just in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but as part of a broader narrative.
In 1999, Jordanian authorities arrested several Hamas operatives who were allegedly planning to attack Israeli and Jewish targets in Jordan.
In 2021, Greek authorities arrested two men, one of whom had connections to Hamas, who were planning to attack a Jewish community center and a synagogue in Athens.
