Also, it has just been pointed out to me that Haniyeh, Deif and Sinwar are the only Hamas figures that the ICC were interested in arresting. Haniyeh is dead, and Deif may be as well - if Sinwar is killed too then the ICC will only be going after Netanyahu and Gallant.

We can therefore expect the usual bleatings of bias and antisemitism when arrest warrants are issued.

Not many will mourn the assassination of Ismael Haniyeh, but I don't think it was particularly wise. As far as Hamas goes, he was a pragmatist, who could be negotiated with.

The likelihood is he'll be replaced by something even more radical, uncompromising, and committed to Israel's destruction.

My biggest concern when I heard the incident was that we can presume Israel used some form of cruise missile to attack Tehran, so Iran will reply to this!

He isn’t the main man in Hamas (at least in terms of the Gaza fighting forces), and before they killed him they killed many of his children, his sister and many other relatives. Did they get their just desserts?

The man is genuinely deranged, up there with Pol Pot, Stalin and Hitler. Which is some feat.
He is wanting massive escalation so the US has no choice but ride to their rescue and trample Palestine to shreds in the process.
Through other alliances there is a real possibility, or likelihood, that both Russia and China are drawn in, India and Pakistan too. All with nuclear capabilities. And with so many unhinged and itchy fingers in charge, it's not a good look

Maybe, but this is so obviously a desperate Israeli government carrying out these attacks that I would hope Iran recognises that it doesn’t have to strike back now and give the Israeli government what they want.

Being restrained whilst the deranged mob perform ever more outrageous acts is after all why Israel is now more isolated than its ever been. Continuing down that path makes them likely to be even more isolated.
