That footage of the IDF using drones to individually take out the four civilians is absolutely sickening.
Meanwhile it appears a unanimous ceasefire call is about to be agreed at the UN after the US finally decided to call for one. I guess 30,000 deaths wasn't enough but 32,000 was too many?
But will Israel agree to stop the killing? They laughed in the face of the international court that told them they need to protect civilians and report back how they've achieved that within 30 days, going as far as even ramping up their killing and continuing to deliberately cut off aid.
What I don't get is this: Now the US is calling for a ceasefire, and that's going to be voted on today at the EU. If Israel refuses... the US will simply continue to provide them ammunition to carry on their genocide? If they refuse, will the US give some more stern words and threats to withhold ammo from Israel, but actually do nothing of the sort?
Its all about the narrative and who controls it, I guess.
Biden had hoped this wouldnt drag out and be in the minds of voters with months to go but it has.
He now has to paint Bibi as the bad guy and Israelis as victims of his leadership too.
Hence, Schumer calling for elections in Israel.
Now the Republican speaker of the house has said he'd invite Bibi to address congress.
Lines are being drawn in the sand here.
Trump is campaigning hard on defunding the Ukranian war effort, it will be hard for him to do this and keep funding Israel.
As for Biden, I'd imagine he's hoping this UN resolution will force Bibi into a temporary ceasefire.
If it doesn't Bibi will be an even bigger pariah when he comes before congress. And I'd say Biden will threaten withdrawal of support (except for the iron dome)
Biden really needs Muslims in Michigan to turn out, does he need that more than Aipac donations, probably.
Edit, looks like the resolution has not passed at the UN.
