I don't know, at least over here - the influence operations have a really narrow effect and there is a bit of a chasm between what the population thinks (and why) and what the political class thinks.

What support there is for Israel domestically in the UK is born out of a lack of knowledge of what is actually going on (which is understandable as you have to find out for yourself), combined with those who have sympathy for October 7th, Zionists and those with anti-Muslim sentiment. When that issue becomes relevant - for example if there is a wider blockade of shipping causing financial hardship here - people are going to educate themselves and that support will shrink away to a small minority of racists and Zionists. Politicians will have to follow that trend, or they will be left high and dry.

I’m not sure they will get a judgment in the end (the legal definition of genocide being so easy to argue around), but I think the chances of getting an interim decision are very very high.

Russia was on the end of one over Ukraine and has ignored it, but I doubt Israel would be able to.

Thank you - means a lot. I know we don't always agree but I think that's better than an echo chamber! And I think we both want the same thing in the end - a free and democratic Palestinian state living alongside a free and democratic Jewish state.

The Germans are ludicrous hostages to their own history. As with their economically illiterate self-imposed ideological debt brake - a reaction to Weimar inflation 100 years ago - the Palestinians now need to be obliterated to assuage the guilt of Nazi evil from 85 years ago.
