Agreed. While I wouldn’t agree with an Israeli doing it, I wouldn’t be surprised considering it’s (rightly or wrongly) their fight, and it’s prevalent.

His problem may be that there's nowhere to go. He can't take any ill-gotten gains to most countries, who routinely vote with Palestine in the UN. They won't take him in.
If he goes somewhere that might take him, they will have extradition treaties with Israel. They will send him back, despite the fact that Israel is notoriously bad about reciprocity, and routinely harbors fugitives from justice under the Law of Return. They will do this because they want to maintain relations with the new Israeli government.
His only option is probably to brazen it out until he no longer can.
