The West has gone very quiet since the end of the ceasefire. It's as if Israel know they can get away with anything now
The UN is a joke and lacks any credibility. You have to ask yourself why didn’t they invoke article 99 over Ukraine yet here they are invoking it over Gaza. The EU (Borrell) has backed Guiterres’ Article 99 call and I’d imagine the UK will be doing the same thing soon. The only holdout will be the US and even there the administration has lost patience.
edit: if the reports of mass executions are true then this will probably be over in a day or two, even the US will never stand for that

Don’t get me wrong I’m all for the security council piling in and stopping the murder in Gaza but where was the UN when Russia invaded Ukraine? That situation surely presented a bigger threat to international peace and security.
Personally I’d of positioned capturing a NPP and then wiring it with explosives as a greater threat to world peace and security - but hey Ho!This is a much more severe threat to the international order than Ukraine was, by several degrees of magnitude.
Gaza is nowhere near the threat to international order than Putins invasion of Ukraine. We have a country that has for decades been invading its neighbours, committing war crimes in multiple states now doing so at the heart of Europe and making threats of nuclear escalation. It is not even on the same page. This is a much more severe threat to the international order than Ukraine was, by several degrees of magnitude.
We have a country that has for decades been in open defiance of UN SC resolutions and if it’s not already organised a genocide it is well down the road of organising one. They appear to be planning to force millions of people into neighbouring countries, as well as reserving the right to act extrajudicially anywhere in the world.
The UN lacks teeth by design, but it has red lines and the Israelis have crossed them now. All of the surrounding region, the vast majority of the rest of the world are demanding this stop. Even in the holdouts (like us) the majority of the population wants this to stop.
It is going to stop, whether the Israeli government wants to or not.
This with the threat of nuclear escalation, blowing dams and as you say rigging and shelling NPP facilities.Personally I’d of positioned capturing a NPP and then wiring it with explosives as a greater threat to world peace and security - but hey Ho!
Also attempting to shoot down NATO surveillance aircraft. This with the threat of nuclear escalation, blowing dams and as you say rigging and shelling NPP facilities.

Israel may bow to international pressure and stop the absolute horrors Gaza is suffering but I fear it will not happen until they decalre that Hamas infrastucture has been demolished and their leadership caught or killed. It is incredibly sad for both the people of Ukraine and Gaza but they are facing two determined forces hell bent on delivering their respective objectives.
I would dare to suggest that it is an area that you have been invested in for some time, possibly admirably active in opposition to Israels poor behaviour and I do understand that the more people have invested in years of trying to achieve justice for Palestine that this situation must hit a particular place in hearts and hopes. Its far worse than the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Ukraine is a war which most of the world reacted to with indifference; Gaza is increasingly looking like a war that could galvanize most of the rest of the world into action (and certainly most of the rest of the region). They would be fools not to take action given that the alternative - to allow international law and international opinion to be disregarded so that a genocide can take place - is clearly not in the interest of 99% of the countries of the UN.

That said, the only actor in the region that is a real concern is the Iran regime and its proxies. Countries in the region are refusing to take any refugees or get involved and also know that Hamas are a puppet moved by Iran.
It is heartbreaking to see what is happening and I believe that Israel are just causing more problems for themselves down the line but I do not see tha matter escalating as Hamas (and Putin) might wish. Iran know what the consequence would be and the UN are struggling to even define terminology for pauses or ceasefires.
