Is our Great club jinxed?

Did Goodison ever get bombed in the Second World War mate ?

It certainly did.

As an aside, 50% of all residential buildings in the city of Liverpool were either damaged or completely destroyed by the Luftwaffe. And over 4,000 civilians in the Merseyside area were killed by Luftwaffe bombs.

Here's Goodison just after it was hit.

And you can add 1963.....club rocked by a betting scandal it had nowt to do with and our marquee signing banned.

Funny that these events happen when winning the league. Inadvertently, Just months after winning the league in 1891 started the dispute between John Houlding;owner of Anfield and the Everton committee over rent.

Nothing to do with the custodians, fans or players.

I vaguely remember someone putting a hoodoo on the club or ground.

What else can explain our wretched luck.

Do you need to ask? 2 World Wars, countless crap referees, denied the title in the fog (1905), refused European entry in the 60s and.. well, you know the other one. My father always use to say "Everton have never been a lucky club"

Seriously though there was talk a few years back that someone had actually placed a curse on the club.

Can any older posters recollect the details?

Martinez mate.

Half a goal quotes and clearly very little defensive work in his time here.

Whole other and drawn out discussion but you would like to think even half an effort at the back and he might have got somewhere.

Yes....but we have hired two managers since whose defensive nous and set piece defending is every bit as suspect as Roberto’s, despite us being led to believe that was their forte.

And they do not even have the saving grace of Roberto’s teams which at times scored for fun.

Given the choice between Roberto, Moonhead and Sam....the Spaniard gets my vote hands down ;)

And The Beatles broke up just as we clinched the title in 1970
