Is our Great club jinxed?

It seems like a lifetime, the number of years we have waited to have some serious money to spend on the team and what have we done with it? Squandered it on average footballers, who show a lack of fire and passion on a weekly basis. We seem to have put together not a winning team, but a team of overpaid mercenaries who are as detached from the fanbase of any side I’ve watched over the years. We are doing a villa under o’neill, who squandered big money, but left them with a poorer team. Let’s hope our slide doesn’t continue in the same vein.

Nothing to do with the custodians, fans or players.

I vaguely remember someone putting a hoodoo on the club or ground.

What else can explain our wretched luck.

Is our club jinxed?

When we moved out of our home circa 1891 we inadvertently spawned the Devil’s Own XI.

And the Gods have shown their displeasure on many occasions since.

Put it this way.

Football in this country has been suspended twice.....on account of the two most destructive wars this planet has ever witnessed.

Which team was reigning champions and had the rug pulled from under it’s feet on both occasions?

Coincidence?

I think not

Dark forces are at work....:hayee:

*Everton Win League title in 1915 - League cancelled for four seasons because of World War, cannot defend title with best team since 1891

*Everton Win League title in 1939 - League cancelled for seven seasons because of World War 2, Everton unable to defend title with best team since 1932.

*Everton Win League title in 1985 and European Cup Winners Cup - English clubs banned from Europe for next five seasons, Everton unable to participate in the scheduled UEFA Super Cup Final versus Juventus, and unable to participate in Europe with that was their best team ever.

This always amazes me. Had World War 1 not happened, War World 2, or the English ban. Everton would have more than 9 league titles and one UEFA Cup Winners Cup.

Not at all.

Stop playing crap formations.

Stop hiring managers who think defending and set pieces aren't important.

Stop hiring managers and then failing to sign the most important player they need after selling it.

Stop hiring managers who fear the other team.

Back managers that need backing

Don't hire managers who clearly aren't good enough.

Stop spending money aimlessly and wonder why the team DOESN'T WORK AT ALL

Actually have some pride and fight for once from top to bottom

You wha?

Isn’t that what our current manager is supposed to have built his reputation on?

And you can add 1963.....club rocked by a betting scandal it had nowt to do with and our marquee signing banned.

Yes, Goodison is in fact built on a pagan Anglo-Saxon cemetery. So we need to sacrifice the boar that the club is now named after to beg for forgiveness.

Did Goodison ever get bombed in the Second World War mate ?

Martinez mate.

Half a goal quotes and clearly very little defensive work in his time here.

Whole other and drawn out discussion but you would like to think even half an effort at the back and he might have got somewhere.

We'd possibly be the most successful club in English football history if those events had not happened. We'd certainly be well ahead of Arsenal.
