do we throw money at the next big thing, risking stability and let's say it doesn't pan out, we're back to being a dumpster fire of a club?

Look. I'm not saying I definitely want Moyes back. But we need to look at the pros and cons of getting rid of him this summer. Because given where we've been post-COVID, it would be a risk.

We don't want to find ourselves in another Koeman/Silva situation

It might just be that after 3 years of DM giving us comfortable mid-table to challenging for Europa league, we might be more attractive to the next big thing a few years from now

I would love this to happen but I don’t think it will. Total guess but the fact he’s announced he’s leaving he probably already knows where he’s going and the manager is already in situ.
