Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

You think Moyes would walk.?

In my opinion, our next manager needs to not just be the new shiny toy, but someone that "gets" the club and actually wants this job. Not someone that sees us as someone who can pay more than where he is, not someone that view us as a step to somewhere else. But someone that's looked at Everton and said, I understand the challenges of managing there and that's what I want b/c they are a sleeping giant I can fix.

I have no idea if Iraola falls more on the spectrum of Unai Emery or Graham Potter. But first and foremost the club needs to know the answer to that question in the vetting process.

We know what we have with Moyes, warts and all. Anyone we replace him with would be a bit of a leap into the unknown
I'm ok with us being a stepping stone. I'm pretty sure Hurtzeler, Glasner, Iraola et al. didn't look at the clubs they are at as a forever club and they've all done well. If someone talented and ambitious sees a three year stint at the Hill Dicky as a path to Bayern Munich or Barcelona or wherever, then I'm all for it.

Let's leap into the unknown, the status quo is depressing.

All I'm saying is that Iraola still is an unknown, and would be dealing with a rabid, at times fickle fanbase.

As others have stated, some people wanted Don Carlo run out of here for playing ugly football because he had the likes of Mason Holgate playing serious minutes out of necessity

We threw money at Koeman, who didn't even want to be here.

More important that anything else, the manager we go after has to have a plan on how he wants the squad to be, how to deal with the size of our club, and what to do when things went awry, like it did for Marco Silva

With Moyes, he knows all these things and brought us stability. If we think Iraola is like Unai Emery, then let's do it

But he could easily be Graham Potter

Iraola will land the Chelsea job in all likelihood, he will stay in Premier League - love to see how he tries to get that lot playing the high intense football like a good Bielsa protege demands

Regrettably I can't see any scenario other than Moyes continuity considering recent years of instability - means pragmatic football

The Bournemouth manager at the end of the season is open to talks with us ...do we just sit on our hands ?

I'm fine with us being a stepping stone. But as you say above, I'm not sure Iraola is a known entity.

Certainly he's done a fantastic job, but the ask is a bit different here.

Regardless of who, I don't see any change in manager. Don't see TFG being that proactive. Keeping Moyes is more gentle and safe.

Whatever our thoughts are about recent results ultimately it's not like Dyche before Moyes arrived. We're not in Tottenham's or West Ham's shoes.

Moyes gets praise but also should be criticised. Keane and Tarkowski doesn't work.
