Is now the opportunity? Should Everton go for Iraola?

Could have said similar about Thomas Frank last season. (With Brentford obviously..)

Trouble with getting a new manager is you just never know. There is a lot of luck and timing involved.

Mike Walker was seen as a promising manager before we got our claws into him too.
Iraola ain’t Thomas Frank, plays totally different footy.

Keith Andrew’s has done a better job than Frank tbh.

We will never get anywhere with a scared attitude

Not sure Papa as I never thought Frank was all that at Brentford and I thought Spurs made a rick appointing him as his management style doesn't translate to higher expectation clubs because its very basic in essence (similar to Keith Andrews who in theory should be highly sought after with the results he's attained this season) Iraola on the other hand plays a style of football that's translatable to a higher expectation club as its high intensity and getting the ball forward quickly through transition much like Klopp did at the RS which in the Premier League brings high dividends

The one thing I’d agree with (and with Iraola who I’m a fan of) is managers at clubs who effectively use data analytics to support what is a well oiled recruitment network / structure. It’s really difficult to know how well those managers would fare in clubs who do not have that well drilled recruitment operation.

Good players through win matches meaning a clubs recruitment has to be effective. Ours may well be in time but wasting 60m last summer would suggest still our recruitment needs a lot more work. It’s no coincidence that Smith did well at Brentford (poor at Villa), Frank (poor at Spurs) and similar to be said with managers at Brighton.

That’s why if you were to push me I’d probably go with Glasner who has done it at more than one club and in more than one league which shows flexibility but it’s all moot now anyway in light of Kinnear’s statement today.

Ok, maybe. I read bilbao wasn’t an option, surely that would be done now if they wanted him and he was desperate to go back to spain and he wouldnt be entertaining palace or his agent giving out feelers that he’d be interested in chatting to us
These guys seem to always have the club they want to go to and the ones they will talk to to leverage their move.
