Now you are talking rubbish, your final paragraph is delusional.
Never presume you know more about management techniques or business ownership or being a football coach, I hold a badge have been a MD
and owned my own business, now my first game I watched was the 1946 cup final and seen all the great players post-war and Barkley is on page 976 of good players.
If Barkley ever reaches his so-called potential I will give my season ticket away and stop making the 200 mile round I make on average to watch Everton.
Do not hold your breath.
I repeat only Martinez persevered if his so called are so good why has he been binned by other managers.

Can we give you away and keep your season ticket?

He is, at worst, a good Premiership footballer. At worst. This is shown in many decent to good games he has had since coming through, and some excellent games. It is also shown in his goals and assists total each season.

He is a blue.

Whilst he is having, and has had, some issues in showing himself to be worthy of a starting slot every week, he is a LONG LONG LONG way off being so poor as to be judged as harshly as he is being by fans like you.

His potential, his reputation and his apparent price-tag are all out of his control but all influence views like yours.

Take away all that and not even mentioning potential, or what he could be or might not become, you will just see a decent Premiership footballer that supports Everton and loves playing for us. That for me says....nothing to see here, move along. And mainly stop bloody moaning at him people.

Sell Barkley? Why?

He's a home grown. People seem to neglect that a team needs identity that usually is not obtained by signing foreign players.

Players like Hibbert or Osman played a part in building a good team spirit. Players like Coleman, Jagielka or Baines did that too, even though they were not grown through our academy.

When I see such a great influx of players who are arriving just because we paid more money for them...it worries me.

So having a good player like Barkley who is british and has Everton all over him...why sell him?

Just out of curiosity, where did you watch the 1946 cup final?.

Glad to see the poll results so far. To be honest thought it might be the other way round, given the stuff written in the Ross thread itself.

Chill out Mr Kenwright.

He might have to leave for his own sake as he doesn't get a fair crack of the whip from a lot of fans, i don't think i have ever seen a player under so much scrutiny at everton before. He gets slaughtered every time he makes the smallest of mistakes but Stones was allowed to do what he wanted in his own six yard box and was defended to the hilt by many.

If Ross Barkley turns out to be a stronger and faster version of Osman and stays at Everton his whole career would that be so bad?
As a red I have noticed when watching Everton on the telly exactly what you are saying. The crowd really seem to give it to Barkley and it was noticeable from the tunnel camera at Wembley that Jagielka had to tell Barkley that brown shoes was the target for the booing. I would build a team around him.

...you don't sell your best players but much depends on whether RK feels Barkley sits in the category. The indication is he's not convinced he fits the way he wants to play, the likelihood is he'll bring in players who do. We still need a squad but every player has a price, much depends on how much a club is prepared to pay and Barkley's contract situation.
