Is it time to panic?

I am sure we will be told stories midway through a crap season how we close to signing X player and we tried our best but deal fell through etc.

We had to move some of the dead wood out which is still there. A proven goal scorer is needed, not a 19 year old from Serie A who may or may not cut in in PL.

Still nothing about a new RB and CB.

You look at other clubs dealings and it's just the nature of a transfer window, its 90% late business. Nobody else is going into the last fortnight with everything they need in place. Weve got a lot to do, probably more than any of our competitors, but it's just the way these windows seem to work. Its downright weird as players will be joining without a preseason with their club. It's not just us, historically weve done alright on deadline day but it's hard not to be a bit anxious tbh.

leeverpuewl have had a bad pre-season too, but I don't see critics rubbishing them. Who cares about the results of friendlies? Having said that I am now despondent. That is the stage before panic sets in.

Can't see any positives from this pre season. Putting out poor teams against poor opposition in front of a couple of hundred fans. The teams going for top 4 or 6 places have been playing top teams in full grounds.

Yokohama Mariners, Wolves and West Ham?

I agree with this, but most other clubs don’t have good structures place. So we should be better organised than them if the Brands regime is as good as we are led to believe. In fairness, there is more work to do than other teams, the Walsh era scars remain, and so on. And I’m still confident it will all get done. But you would have thought we’d be further down the road than we are, and Marco evidently thinks the same.
