Is it time for us to replace Howard?

I think Vorm is quality, but he was very injury-prone at Swansea.

If PSG move for Cech in January, maybe Everton could look at Sirigu?

Would love it, but it's unlikely.. He's only 27 and will probably be Italy's first choice keeper once Buffon goes.. ££££

Who should we sell to get the cash to get a decent replacement in Jan? Has to be a decent player, that we can get some good coin for? If we want him replaced its not just a question of who to bring in but how to get the money as well.
McCarthy? Baines? Naismith? maybe flog Barkley and get a keeper+ centre half?

Cant have a moan about the board on this either because we spent far more than we ever thought Everton would in the summer without anyone of note going out. Should we have gone for a keeper then and not Lukaku?

The question is can we afford to replace him without selling one of our best players?

I doubt we can so we are stuck with what we have, maybe it is time to give Joel a go.

how about Guillermo Ochoa the Mexican keeper had a fantastic world cup, just signed for Malaga but if the price is right could go. the RS are sniffing round him in jan

I worry about keepers who have had a good world cup!
Agreed, 2 good weeks and suddenly there world beaters. Thing is smithy I have been watching a lot of euro footy this season(unemployment) and the standard of keeping in Europe at the minute is horrendous (usual suspects aside, nuer etc) Just don't know who is better that we could get at the minute.

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but I'm on my tea break and haven't got time to properly read every page, so apologies if it has.

Presuming that I'm reading this table correctly http://www.footstats.co.uk/index.cfm?task=Leagues we have the second lowest shots conceded to shots on target conceded %, but the second highest goals conceded to shots on target conceded ratio.

Shots are initially sorted on Shots[F]. Target% means % of shots that are on target. Goal% means %shots on target that have led to goals.

So according to that, if a shot is on target there's almost a 1 in 2 chance that the opposition will score a goal.

At moment I think the likes of Marshall or Butland (who I'm far from convinced by but do see potential) may be the way to go.

But just don't think Martinez sees it as an issue.

I would not be surprised if Martinez played Robles. against City.
It is a game that we are expected to get nothing from anyway and Tim Howard seems to have a World Cup hangover just like a lot of other players.
Robles did play a number of first team games for Martinez at Wigan and it might be a very worthwhile kick in the arse for Tim Howard.
