Is it just me that sees the Chelsea game like the first game of the season?

As the title says, to me it feels like we are nearly a week away from the first game of the season. I appreciate the 3 points we already have but I genuinely feel like this is the major start and I hope Goodison Park is fierce on the day.

We have completed new signings and will be good to see them pull on the blue shirt for what I as our first win in the league and there's no better way to do it by beating Europa Cup champions, former champions league winners and constant title challengers. If we get the 3 points this will be massive! In my head its like a second beginning and I can't wait. I'm about as excited as I was for Norwich, counting down the days and I know we can beat them, I have a good feeling.

It'll be great to see McCarthy and Barry linking up and to see how well they work will Barkley, Deulofeu, Mirallas, Kone.

Get through the internationals without any injuries and then the season is back! 17:30 Kick off at Goodison Park, the whole world will be watching. Everton aren't we?

The transfer window does seem to cast an odd shadow over the August fixtures. Actual football takes a backseat until the deadline passes.

Not for me, we added some more players but the season started against norwich and like Chico i'm miffed at the dropped points already. It's a a complete new look Everton without the big fella in the middle that's what will seem a bit odd, not seeing the big afro wearing giant

We have played 3 mediocre teams and not beaten any of them. That said, we haven't looked like losing to any of them either. Just haven't put chances away.
Defo points dropped.

We are Everton, we draw a lot these days.

Looking forward to when it all clicks into place!

No, because it's not the first game of the season. We should be sat on 7 or 9 points, but we aren't. It's been a poor start to the campaign, and Chelsea is simply the 4th game of the season to me.

Yep, it was a phoney war playing with one hand tied behind our back.

It now appears Vic was on his way, Mo deffo gone and every likelihood Baines joining, that's 30% of the outfield starters including our 2 best players "unsettled".

Add in Kone's religious constraints Barkley taking his first real steps and the introduction of a complete change of playing style and it's amazing we are unbeaten and a huge credit to all concerned.

Now we can start.

I agree. Martinez said after the Cardiff game we needed more 'meaning in our play' in other words the team has to look like it wants the 3 points and a little more determination/ruthlessness to score goals and perhaps more risks in terms of how many players get in and around the box when we are attacking. I'm glad Martinez knows what he wants - now it's just a matter of making it a reality on match-days.

This match will be tough though, Chelsea know our qualities and always play well against us. I don't fear them though. If we can dominate CM and Lampard/Ramires I see no reason why we can't get a good win. On the other hand, another draw against Chelsea this time is not to be sniffed at. They are going for the title and want consistency and winning results. A very tough game but something to look forward to no doubt.

Always look forward to the games at Goodison, unless we are playing the S++++ and I hope that will Change under Bobby.

I get what ya sayin. Especially after this daft international break the Chelsea game seems like another start to the season, especially if we win the fecker.

I know what you mean Mick and I hope you're right and that we kick on properly from here. Baptism of fire for the new signings though but then again that's what Goodison does best. The more new faces we see the better I anticipate the atmosphere will be. Excited already I am! F**king ****ty international break does my head in
