Is Baines Irreplaceable

With all the talk of United coming in for Baines it does make me worry that he is irreplaceable and makes you realise how crucial he is to our side. After seeing the rumoured vids it makes me wonder who we could get in good enough to fit into his position.

If Fellaini goes I believe he would be easier to replace as we would have substantial amount more for him than we would get for Baines and there is a much bigger market for central midfielders than there is for left backs.

Baines is irreplaceable as a player who plays left back. Fellaini is far from being irreplaceable.

If Baines is sold for big money, then we should replace him with a top striker. I think swapping a top class left back for a top class striker would improve the team.

As an individual yes baines is irreplaceable, we won't sign anyone as good. However there were 5 teams better than us last season without baines. 16M invested in the team and the sparks coming from elsewhere on the pitch with say Oveido at LB and we could be a better overall team.

No player is irreplaceable but the fee should reflect the value of the player and the man.
Baines is a total gent and a down to earth local lad. These are difficult qualities to find in World Class footballers.
If ManU were offering something around the 40 million bracket then we would have to be realistic when assessing the deal.

20 million or Baines. I know which I would sooner have.
