Friend of mine voted out , I pointed out the his grandkids would be just the right age to serve in northern Ireland when it really hits home , sure enough he wants someone else's grandkids to sort it out, personally I hope the EU step in and unify Ireland and give independence to Scotland.

I wish they would give independence to Liverpool as well.

I also think the right wing media have done a job on Labour over the years which hasn't helped at all. It's going to be difficult for Labour to win the next election unless they become better at getting their message out there.

They have to decide what that message is first...then get it out there...then hope the Voters like it.

Trouble is getting it out there. They could present the same ideas as the Tories and the outlets for getting their message out would present them as lunatic, pie in the sky stuff coming from Labour, and the best thing since sliced bread coming from the Tories.

May be it’s as simple as workers no longer have parents and unions telling them who to vote for. The decline of unions in workplaces and subsequently workers rights have unleashed a wave of little englander voters into the arms of the party who caused the destruction in the first place. Because people are idiots.

Also the amount of people who now are ‘company directors’ in the limited company scam. People love not paying tax and god help any party wanting to stop that.

It's the result of at least 40 years continuous drip feed propoganda from the right wing media.
This is still going on. I have been surprised by the change in attitude of a couple of my friends in Lancashire concerning "is johnson doing a good job?"
Their attitude has changed, and from what I can follow from UK on line media, it's due to the lauding of the anti-covid vaccine rollout.
They have had the memory of 12 months fiasco eradicated from their minds.
Good old Beeb, Mail, Torygraph and the rest.

Deffo the media are partly to blame but that shouldn’t excuse people being brainless morons willing to swallow any old garbage those rags churn out. For me it’s a been a grim realisation the past few years that many (not all) people I know are gullible knobheads. They are happy to be serfs to their fuedal overlords for all time. Some have posted on social media today images of the Greek racist like they knew him. They wouldn’t do that for their own gran.
