He can't stand the fact that the EU are backing the Irish position hence the derogatory comments about us which are best ignored.

No one cares....if it makes you feel important, then enjoy....if it hadn’t of been for Brexit then half of the EU wouldn’t have even heard of Ireland.......

Within 2 years by referendum either a United republic Of Ireland or federal Republic of Ireland .
Scotland next or together

Brexit has made it more likely within two years. While there is a sizeable chunk of 'loyalist' that will vote to remain part of the UK, it's not widespread and as strong and convinced as some are saying. My own family, I was born on the Shankhill but brought up in Bootle, the younger ones don't have the same attitudes of 'no surrender' unionism. The older ones 60 plus are strong unionists. The 40-60 are a mish mash of stay in the union and others are not that strong. Their issues are jobs, housing, social care, NHS etc. Anything that damages the economy will not go down well. Some voted to leave and some to remain. If the border issue goes belly up they will blame Uk. Not the best ground to work on attempting to convince people to vote to remain part of the UK.

This stands out as the most ridiculous comment you have made to date.

Seriously you really think that do you?

If so you are obviously not as intelligent as you come across and for someone who claims to have roots in Ireland a bit snide towards the land of your heritage.

I'll put it down for your hate of the EU that makes you disparage and demean anything linked or tied to them.

Having traveled a lot around Europe both professionally and as a tourist i can tell you you are very wrong.

You forget Ireland being the technology hub of Europe means many of the citizens in fellow EU citizens have probably tried to get jobs there or actually work there or have at some point.

That hangover of colonialist thinking has landed the UK right in it. Own worst enemies.

May (under the cosh from the swivel-eyed Brexiteers and the DUP) has made sure of a crisis.

That's what happens when you have zero principles and maximum ego like she had after the last GE: determined to struggle on as PM, propped up in an uneasy alliance with lunatics.

As attempted patronising put downs go, that’s an absolute shocker Pete.

Sums up the complete disdain your lot have had for the entire issue from the moment your realised it was an actual potential blocker. You’ve gone from demeaning it’s importance to demeaning the entire nation, well done.

They're sunk. The whole lot of them. They're like a gang of drunks who wont get out of a boozer even after a 6 hour stay behind. Stumbling round demanding more ale and causing murder.

Without a shadow of a doubt this Tory Government - held together by a £2B bribe to a bunch of conmen like Paisley (still serving his suspension for pulling a fast one) - are the most disgraceful bunch of yahoos ever to hold office.

What really sticks in the craw, is that they’re spouting their drivel from a supposed position of being ‘patriots’.

Such tremendous ‘patriots’ that they’re prepared to risk our own domestic Union, and our entire economic future, chasing an ideology that is so shallow it requires little ‘surface scratching’ to expose both its complete lack of tangible benefit and its rather ugly underbelly.

i saw a clip on twitter of a young unionist arguing that gay marriage shouldnt be allowed because the six counties are protestant countries with protestant values
i feel like the DUP's influence in britain now seems to have set back the positive steps its taken over the last 20 years

the lad looked about 25 aswell, youd expect that sort of attitude to be dying out with the older generation but sadly seems to be alive and well with younger people

not just unionists in ireland that is you could find plenty of examples of younger people with similar attitudes its just theyve used a religious aspect to try and legitimise their opinions
