I’m not overly sure why the illegal detention of a British ambassador is something that’s being debated , it’s illegal and unacceptable.

It's only illegal if it was known he was the ambassador and he was detained anyway. In this case no one knew who he was, because the chinless and nanny-coddled Oxbridge helmet had no papers on him. When he was confirmed to be ambassador he was released.

I’m guessing the Iranian security services team that will almost certainly have been following him knew but ok I do take your point and in fairness I suspect even if we could prove that they knew it’s unlikely you’d change your mind on anything other than Keir Starmer.

I see the government bending over backwards to allow 12 Israelis avoid prosecution for raping a 19 year old British woman abroad; but demand justice for some priviledged and pampered nobhead who forgets his ID when wandering out in Iran to make mischief.

...and I dont know how I've "changed my mind on Keir Starmer".

I don’t see the connection to be honest . I think the first is appalling and certainly warrants extensive further scrutiny. I’ve made my opinion on the way rape victims are treated clear on this forum numerous times. Exactly as I think the government behaviour over the death of Harry Dunn has been at the very best found wanting. As for this government , their actions and specifically the pm you won’t be getting too much of an argument on me as regarding too many challenges you throw in that direction .

All that said a representative of this country was detained and detained unlawfully its quite right protests should be lodged .

The killing of a country's top general without any consideration for the consequences or impact it might have on an already unstable region, and then tweeting about it as if he was a twelve year old x box player, is the height of cluelessness. He is a simpleton

He isn't a simpleton, his actions just show that he's a puppet of the neo-cons. The so called swamp that got the USA into Iraq in the first place.

The execution of Qassem Soleimani will do nothing but unstablize the region and that has been American foreign policy since the mid 80's. Putin basically fought the war against ISIS in the air, while Qassem Soleimani faught the war on the ground. If it wasn't for him, Daesh/ISIS would have taken Iraq, and large chunks of Syria, if not topple Assad completely and the refugee crisis would have been a lot worse.

Iran, Syria, were on the list of countries to topple way back in 2001. But USA could never win public support after their already ilegal war in Iraq. That's why they funded the so called "moderate rebels" in the arab uprising, knowing full well that this same group was also funded by Al Qaeda, Salafist, and the Muslim Brotherhood. The same group that turned into ISIS. It didn't matter, toppling Iran and Syria was more important. Putin and Soleimani put a stop to that

Can’t imagine Iran and the taliban working together- I haven’t read that article though just saw the thumbnail
It smells fishy to me, rather a result for Iran a major US spy chief responsible more many attacks on Iran including Soleimani just happens to be on that downed jet.

Hmmmm....

Iran and the Taliban have a common enemy in the US.

Yeah I was just thinking they probably don't have much to do with each other as the Taliban is a sunni group with Saudi connections, but I'm just speculating, could very easily be wrong.

50 US troops suffered traumatic brain injuries in Iran retaliation attack

All is well

I know it’s not Iran but it’s linked to what happened with Qasem Soleimani.
