I think his point is Trump took out perhaps the top general and the stated Iranian response at this point is firing some warning shots and not killing anyone.

Out of interest, how would you feel if Trump killed a few more Iranians now? Considering they haven't killed anyone and only fired a few warning shots. Would you think it was a bad response?

It's not WW3, Iran has no nuclear weapons and no country that does (Russia and China) are going to go to war with them.

It does mean though the US will invade, Boris will drag us along with them, thousands of innocents and soldiers will die, it will cost the country billions and will probably ruin any chance we have of getting any half decent trade deals with European nations.

We're in for a very dark horrible decade or more.

Nobody is invading Iran. It's about the size of the moon. It's an impossible task.

Everything I've read it was a technical issue that caused it. It's not like it took off from a southeastern Asian country, and then went down in flames when it entered Iranian airspace. It's an awful event as any plane crash is, but some of you appear to be getting hyperbolic.

Iran have a good military and make no mistake actually have weapons of mass destruction. This is a horrible horrible situation. Puffing the chest out sitting at home on the phone bragging about America’s power is downright disgusting. War is so unnecessary.

If it comes out to be true that Qassem was planning more attacks on the US, then I don't see any other way for the US to proceed without taking him out. If it's a lie, then Trump is the moron we all think he is.

CIA and whatever other 'sources' the US use will obviously come out and say they had clear evidence of a planned attack. Do we then all sit back and pat America on the back?

It's in Americas interest for constant disruption in the Middle East and consequently there will always be individuals, groups, states out to 'attack' them or indeed 'us'. It's a vicious circle that just repeats endlessly, but as long as we ignore/twist UN law, we will also publicly act as if we are somehow helping the region progress towards peace.

“We will not start a war, but we will finish one” . These are the exact words that Iran needs to hear. I want Trump to say that whatever you do, we will not start it, but whatever you do we will do it x 100. The USA has the power , it’s about time they had a President willing to use it. If Iran does anything, even killing one American, or one of its proxies does anything, I personally would wipe Tehran off the map, then sort out all of its development bases, everything, and it’s defence organisations. One by one, all military removed. Then let the rest of the Middle East take it over....
The time for Obama and messing around is over....just get it done...

Given this Administration has shown no capacity for the discipline necessary for long-term planning there's little hope this isn't yet another knee-jerk decision.

Not only the US, the Israelis could have killed QS at nearly any time in the last 20-30 years but chose not to do so.

This is generally why monsters the world over are still walking about... The certainty that less rational monster will take their place.
