Interesting random stats thread

Koeman doesn't care about on the ball stats it's pretty evident in our possession play it's been shocking and nope not just against the big teams it's been like that since Rom left

This thread is for interesting stats on Everton players and the team so far.

My concern going into this season was we had nobody left who could dribble.

So far we are averaging 4.3 dribbles a game. A low for the league. For context the highest is 17.7 at Manchester United and the league average is around 10.

Another thing I worried about was Sigurdsson and Klaassen being given play making roles. I didn't feel either had anything to suggest they could perform that role, they simply don't get involved in the play. They need play makers and runners off them for their skills to be any use.

So far Klaassen and Sigurdsson are averaging a combined 36 touches per game.

For context Barkley was averaging 48 on his own last season.

It's hard to really assess until we play more games against the 'lesser' teams. I mean Barkley would obviously have more touches per game against poorer sides than better, and vice versa for a keeper.

Barkley is not as tall as Siggy, so if they were both to run the same distance with the ball Barkley would take more strides so touch the ball more, so it's unfair to compare them.

...

That's stats for you....

Here is a stat - 3 at the back equals 0 points

4-2-3-1 or nothing.

One of the 3 HAS to be one of Mirallas, Lookman, Vlasic or Lennon - played as a winger providing width.

Atalanta had the weirdest passing against us. Basically just played down the wings and ignored the centre of the pitch altogether. Almost as if they saw how narrow we were and just bypassed our midfield altogether.

By contrast our passing shows square balls across defence and back from the centre backs to the full back. Sig and Rooney basically sharing a position on the pitch.

There was one run by their right full back in the second half I think where he ran for about 60 yards with not a single Everton player anywhere near him!

Whether the chances created were for headers or to feet.

Sigurdsson and Bolasie huge outliers in the number of headed chances. Sigs creation to feet woeful.

Ross with Coutinho/Pogba types in the good at both category *sobs*
