None of us know how a suspended points deduction would even work practically.

If that was our punishment, then I'm not sure we could be automatically then hit with that suspended total for the next period. The second period has now ended so we wouldn't have any ability to change course at this point, so it doesn't seem practical.

Our trend in recent periods has clearly been to spend far less and start selling. That should count for something in mitigation. We currently have a sporting disadvantage because we aren't able to improve the squad.
