Imac or PC - advice!

Well I don't like Windows. I think its an awful piece of software. Things popping up all the time, install this, update that, do you want to install this toolbar, etc.... It never stops. Sometimes it will connect to wireless, and sometimes not.

It's not user friendly at all, it puts far too many options in the people who don't know what they are doing. It is bugged to hell, 3 Service packs, I mean come on?

But I choose Apple because the OS is better, the browser it comes with is the quickest, the applications I can use work for me.

But it is affordability with a lot of people, maybe not you or me, but little jimmy isn't going to get his folks to spend over a grand on a system when all he needs it for is surfing the net and writing assignments on.

The best web designers in the world use Apple. Musicians use Apple. The video software used in the industry Avid, is basically Apple.

I'm not saying your ignorant, I don't think I have directed anything at you in any malice at all mate.

I also asked Neiller what he wants the machine for. I don't recommend anyone buy an Apple if it's just for doing mundane tasks such as internet and email, even listening to Music and watching movies is fine on a PC.

It's the tools for the job isn't it?

That's nothing mate. The software I work on got up to service pack "h" in once release (a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h). That is how absolutely crap it is. And it is managers fault for making such stupid decisions. Changing minds at the last minute, trying to squeeze in stuff where there isn't time. It is an absolute nightmare.

Ghost, please GET off the high horse! If you wanna get down to the economics of it, I can more than afford an Apple.

More. Than. Afford.

I choose PC's as I like them. A sensible user has no problems with Windows. I have had Vista for a couple of years, my PC is on 24/7 (it gets rebooted every week or so) and it is still running great.

As for who builds iMacs....Apple builds them out of PC parts. That is a fact, and no amount of baawwing from the Appleites is going to change that.

I am not ignorant (as you profess me to be), I am not cheap (as you profess me to be) nor am I a fan-boy (as you are showing all the signs of). I pick the product that works for ME. Which is what Neiler should do.

Mate, if you covered everything you want in a computer already, a PC will more than do the job you want it to. Stay away from the low rep sights and torrents (hell, any p2p for that matter), keep your gf from installing everything under the sun and your PC will run just dandy. And you will have a lot of pocket change left from not buying Fruit.

If you got the money get a Mac dude, I would just cause it's a lot more fool proof and I like things easy.

For me I used to be a PC nut, loved them. Actually got my first one just to play Champ Manager on it.

Then I discovered Apple and OSX, and haven't looked back since. I just wonder how many people who used to be on a Mac go back to using Windows/PC as there regular system? I doubt it is a higher rate than the opposite conversion.

Macs are for people who like to congratulate themselves for thinking they're in the know.

They are also the same type of people who wear open necked collars for corporate events, have cosmetic brain storms with the subordinates as an act of vanity and pronounce Nike "nikee".

Not you Ghost like, you're alright.

I think you'll find it's the Americans who say "nikee" - you don't want to rattle that cage mate.

That is how you pronounce it. I even rang up Nike support to check.
