Imac or PC - advice!

Right lads this isnt a set up or anything (know you love apple Ghost mate)

Been looking at a new desktop for a while have narrowed it down to the Imac 27 inch or Dell Studio Xps 8000. My girlfriend is in Graphic/webdesign and she keeps telling me to go for a mac, but seems to be better spec on PC's by Dell for a cheaper cost with a decent bit of Ram and the new i7 - though my last dell lasted three years.

The main uses would be, movies, photos, multitasking online and the odd site i might stumble on to that coincidently have an Everton game on!

Any advice Mac or Pc.

Heres what im looking at:

iMac - Apple Store (Republic of Ireland) - the fourth one!


Dell Studio XPS 8000 Desktop Product Details - the middle one!

Anyone with more sense then me have a recomendation!

As I have only ever used windows, as I cant afford the ridiculously high priced Imac, it can only be windows from this direction. BUT I'd love to get my hands on an Imac and give it a whirl and compare as it looks so cool and sleek :D

A massive 27 inch screen is appealing mate - they do look the sniz only thing stoping me is the spec for cash.

Streaming movies mate, playing music, photo storage, a few sites/apps open at the same time, downloading music - wont be desiging or anything. What do you think?

Have had the girlfriend mac laptop the past few months and have to say its sleek and impressive - she hasnt used it in about 3 years (its about 4 years old) since she got her imac for design, but given the specs it does everthing and more quicker the my old Dell that allegidly had highe specs.

A PC with better specs than an iMac is slower than the iMac. Well I never, can you spread the word?

Hate to burst your expensive bubble, but no its not.

A PC with better specs than the Imac is faster than the Imac.

Sorted that, right, off to work!
