Tbf I don't think too many of the top teams in the league will go for him, and teams abroad won't pay his value.Perhaps I’m just being naive but, unless finances force us to sell, I get the feeling he’d prefer to stay and help us win something.
City are massively stocked in midfield (obviously they've never been shy of simply adding more, but hey), Liverpool is clearly a no-go, United are back amongst the big boys and will strengthen as usual though. Arsenal may fancy adding a bit of flair but they already have five wingers (Eze, Trossard, Martinelli, Madueke, Saka - although I guess they would see him as an improvement on at least two of them), and Chelsea have about 50 options in his position.
In any case he's in the prime of his career and will get player of the season for us. His price will be massive, easily in the 60-80 million range, and I don't think teams will pay that. We've seen already that we aren't going to be bullied on price for our top players anymore. He's happy and as long as he sees we're improving the squad around him, I doubt there's that big a gap between us and Champions League football next season.
I could sadly see a situation where Arsenal went in for a 'cheeky' 30 million plus Trossard bid for him, or City with a 30m plus Grealish, valuing their players far too highly and seeing if we fall for it.
All depends on how ambitious the owners are I suppose. So far not too ambitious, so that will need to change.
