I’ve not read the article, but it’s a foundational law of headline writing that whenever it includes a yes-no question, the answer is always ‘no.’

Surely he can’t be arguing that… in which case, he - or his subeditor - has forgotten Betteridge’s golden rule.
I read the article. It's actually quite tongue in cheek, including the headline, and basically just says that his booking was a bit ridiculous

Yes, I understand.

The point I’m making is a journalistic one.

Headline yes/no questions always have the answer ‘no.’

So the headline ought to be “Should players be booked for impersonating seagulls?”

He should keep "The Seagull" as his signature celebration.
He'll only get booked 8 times a season 😀
Brighton
Newcastle - magpie
Palace - eagle
Spurs- Cockerel
I've seen players cup thier ears. Seen players actually interact with the oppo fans after scoring and shooting things and doing all kinds of gestures. No cards

Waving arms like a bird? Has to be another another unfortunate 1st stat to add to the massive collection.

Not sure if anyone in GOT gets the' Guardian Football Daily' email, but a couple of days ago they published my letter....

"With reference to Stephen Rankin’s comments about Iliman Ndiaye’s Seagull impersonation brightening a dull game (yesterday’s Football Daily letters), I might add that although this is an entertainment business, the referee was not entertained, but rather booked Ndiaye for excessive celebration. Not dissimilar to Richarlison (when at Everton) and his pigeon celebration. Perhaps The Knowledge can weigh in on a player being booked before for impersonating a bird (flightless or otherwise) during a game?” – Mr Hawtree."

Obviously I was having a boring Monday in work...
