Lescott was great for us but i would never bring him back to our beloved club. No way!

I think he is. There are better defenders but they wouldn't come, like Terry, Vidic and Ferdinand wouldn't go to City.

Greed is one argument, ambition is another and sadly lcab, as frustrating as it is, they have more of it right now. I mean, we haven't spent a penny for years.

I would have left too, it pushes him way ahead of Upson in the England selection too.

I can understand the loyalty argument in certain cases like Rooney, a player who would probably be earning JSA now if it wasn't for us, he jumped ship way too early but don't think it applies here.

Lads , thats a different argument . Im on about cats who say , anyone would for twice their dough . I cant have it . Its obscene , with respect Goat , I dont give a fuk what circle hes in . This ted was journeyman'in it , until the ginger one . Hes gets the dough , the England Shirt , gets to Wembley . All within 2 odd years , yet , ... Ambition , indeed .
Well , anyway . Thats my take on it .
Sitting as I am today , potless , I like to content myself in the knowledge that should I ever drop the Euro Lottery , I'd keep a couple of mill , sort me fambo , and no [Poor language removed] , give the rest away . A foundation or some such . I dunno . Me point is , surely thats not it , dough ??? 90 grand . 190 grand . Stick it up your huge fodded arse .
One thing I know , Bally wouldnt have done it . Not for 290 grand . Not for money , full stop .
I do however , admit , I am perhaps a relic , and its a diferent world . I also know its gonna be harder trying to convince my baby grandkids to buy into Everton with clowns like him , and loads others , admittedly , around than it was to me boy .

Dan San , as we both know , Jags is better than both . Lescott's goals brought him to prominence - when , in truth , he played predominantly left-back .(when he was originally called-up . )

I actually agree with you that the "anyone would take the chance to double their money" line is bollocks.

Some people wouldn't, you say you wouldnt and i believe it, and i know i wouldn't.

If i got the chance to do the exact same job somewhere else for double my money i'd certainly think about it but its by no means certain i'd go.

There's other reasons which come into play. Sure a double your money offer would be tempting buts its by no means a given that everyone would take it.

And that also means if someone does take it it isn't strictly just for the moeny.

Hes right tho, he now has a bigger profile than Upson and Jagielka.

Of course he does, in a world cup year - with doubts over Ferdinands fitness.

As I said, greed is one argument, ambition is another - the latter is a hard argument to argue against. I would really even argue the first in football, especially when the second can be applied.

I don't want him back, ever.(n)

Not because he chose to double/triple his wages. Also not for handing in his transfer request, but the timing of his transfer request and his attitude after Moyes, decided to turn it down, made him a outcast for me.

Can understand a player wanting to leave for a far bigger salary. Certainly for someone who didn't grew up supporting the club he plays for. Don't think I'd leave Everton for that amount of money, but I for sure would have left every other club I was playing for.

Exactly. I've actually refused an offer like that. Because I like my job, I like the area where I live, I don't want to move to another part of the country and I have enough money for what I need. Getting some extra money but living down south away from my family and mates and that doesn't appeal to me. Not when I've already got a job that treat me alright, you know.

And I only get 14 grand a year. Its enough for me but it doesn't exactly make me loaded.

Lescott was on three times that a week. A bit more money doesn't make a huge difference to his life. He's already on enough for anything he could really want.

So I just don't buy the 'oh how could he posssibly say no' line.

Thanks , Death' , - there's a sentence I never thought I'd say - . Perhaps it's an age thing .

On your last point , I don't think the ambition one cuts it , either . Though , I admit to being possibly , a , niave , and b , bitter . His profile , incidentally , is now higher coz , a ; Jags is injured , b , the media protracted saga we have jjust witnessed .
Again , I refer to exhibit #1, M'Lud . Droghba at Wembley .

I agree , kid . And , welcome , by the way .

His attitude according to Moyes?

Joleons version in the papers today was that he didn't think his attitude was disrespectful and how the players didn't think so either.

Which once again points to Moyes playing damage limitation and making Lescott look bad to make himself look better over the whole transfer.

But who really knows, its all just one persons word against anothers with added media spin.

We don't know diddley squat about what went on behind the scenes regarding Lescotts attitude if we're fair minded.

Moyes could have agreed terms earlier than he did, and Lescott might not have wanted to go to City, but neither of those things happened .
Seriously, I don't buy in to the ' Lescott's the big bad guy ' opinion.

We can't say Lescott left it late when our club themselves leave it late every year.
That would be very hypocritical.
