Those saying no and they would go for someone else, who?

Struggling?

Thought you would.

Dan , mate , I'd have to counter that with , Jagielka-less Fod-of-Fod's at Wembley v Chelski . Droghba fukn terrified him . It became embarrasing second half to be honest . Watch his postion for the header . So , in answer to your query , though it doesn't add to what we've got , but , Jags , for one . It's the goals we'll miss most . That's what made me think of it in the first place .

How stupid would we look if we sell him for 24m and then buy him back a few days later for probably double the price.

Per Mertesacker.
Giorgio Chiellini.
Carlos Marchena.
Thiago Silva.
Cristian Chivu.

1; Nah .
2; Was good . Past it now though - loads of injuries .

I'm saying Gary Cahill , after 2 years with the ginger fella , a la , Jags and Elephant Man .
Apparently , he's mad keen , but not a 8 mill . Shame . Damn shame , in fact .

Yeah, was just throwing out names - Chiellini's absolutely the dog's bollocks, plus he's a leftie!

Its a hyperthetical , money-no-object deal . In order to gauge his standing , to be honest . As a player , that is , not a fella .

Scientific hypothesis , if you will .

VILLA ARE OUT !!! HAHAHA

In all honesty, Lescott was the best centre back City could have signed.

Proven Premiership quality, Barry, Tevez, SWP, Toure, Adebayor etc etc etc.

The best centre back available to them was clearly Lescott. Vidic, Ferdinand and Terry wern't an option.

I don't blame Lescott in the slightest. He was never going to be offered that wage again and not only that, he has joined a club a step up from us in terms of ambition. I would have done the same.

If you played for say, Tottenham and earned £45,000 a week, and Aston Villa were signing World Class players and offered you £100,000+ a week - you would go wouldn't you? Just like you would if another employer offered you your same job, closer to your home (Lescott lived in Manchester) with nicer looking women around you (better players).... and at twice your wage.

Heads out of arses ay lads.

Your answering a different question D. The question was :

If you had an endless supply of money and money was no object, would you buy Lescott back?

The question wasnt do we think Lescott was right to take the huge pay rise. Thats a given in my eyes.

I did answer the question by saying "In all honesty, Lescott was the best centre back City could have signed."

But hes not the best CB that money can buy, which is surely the question posed in the thread?

Ghost will be here in a minute telling us to let him go!!

Kid , I may well be a socialist relic , but Im not having this , anyone would go for twice their dough .
Well , News-Flash , I wouldnt . Not when Ive already been earning 40k per week for two years and had a contract for another 4 more .
ITS GREED . Plain and simple .
Qstn ; What is enough ??? - this to an already mult-imillionaire . It makes me want to puke . That aspect , specifically . Hes not a nurse , for chrissakes . He's an over pampered footy player , with no idea of loyalty , or , frankly , of anything except 90k per week .

Yes LCAB cos at the moment, £40k a week would do you just nicely, who on here wouldnt be happy?

Hes a pro football, he moves in different circles than us, we cant say we wouldnt do it untill we had lived in his world.

I think he is. There are better defenders but they wouldn't come, like Terry, Vidic and Ferdinand wouldn't go to City.

Greed is one argument, ambition is another and sadly lcab, as frustrating as it is, they have more of it right now. I mean, we haven't spent a penny for years.

I would have left too, it pushes him way ahead of Upson in the England selection too.

I can understand the loyalty argument in certain cases like Rooney, a player who would probably be earning JSA now if it wasn't for us, he jumped ship way too early but don't think it applies here.

Completely agree with everything you said in this thread, and i'm glad i'm not the only one to look at it from a neutral pov.

I would have him back tomorrow, nevermind when we are 'brewsted'.
He hasn't become crap just because he left our club, and I don't know any better center backs City could have gotten.

He had a topsey turvy season last year, but after his first 2 years at the club, he showed us all how talented he is.

I hate sour grapes; especially blue ones. :P
