Thread title is IF the tories win. Sadly it should be WHEN as they still will.
What's next? Do we just wait for the over 50's to die?
I'm 37, does this mean I have to vote Tory now??? Good god

Dan Jarvis is part of the problem. The Labour Party has lost all of the "big beasts", so Blair, Brown etc have gone. What's left now is a load of faceless Blairite MPs with no beliefs. Andy Burnham was the biggest let-down for me. I had great hopes for him, but he turned out not to believe in anything, hence we've got Corbyn who, although far from perfect leadership material, does at least have some core beliefs. Not voting it like voting for a devil and letting a left wing ideologist no experienced labour leader in - If Labour had a Keir Starmer or Dan Jarvis as leader they would win by a landslide!
I would vote labour like in the last election - I cannot vote for corbynism even as a prolonged even in retirement a member of a trade union!

His core beliefs will bankrupt the UK!Dan Jarvis is part of the problem. The Labour Party has lost all of the "big beasts", so Blair, Brown etc have gone. I cannot vote for Corbynism - high corporation tax firms will leave hope his money tree on his allotment he has planted a few more its the devil and the deep blue sea - I am a labourite but not a left wing person ready to bankrupt the country!I was like that till a few weeks ago joey66 , but am voting Labour despite my misgivings on the Labour front bench, as I can see the Tories doing untold damage to the NHS ect if they get a clear mandate, Labour at least offer some hope, and if they get beat as I think they will ,at least I can say I have done my bit voting against the government when they kick off, and my conscience will be clear
To my mind they aren't being left wing enough. If we want decent public services we need 5p extra income tax to be paid by everybody, not just the rich. 25% income tax is hardly loony left stuff, it would still be lower than most times in history. We are in a 10 year recession, so higher taxes and higher spending needs to be the way forward, austerity has failed.I cannot vote for Corbynism - high corporation tax firms will leave hope his money tree on his allotment he has planted a few more its the devil and the deep blue sea - I am a labourite but not a left wing person ready to bankrupt the country!
It has failed but Corbyn manefesto is poor like you I would pay extra tax on my company pension which is not a fantastic amount, but the money has not to be wasted we have two parties poles apart in ideology - there lies the problem! To my mind they aren't being left wing enough. Surely you have to give the bloke credit, when the election was called the expectation was of a Tory majority of 100+ and now he has a chance of stopping May getting a majority. Whatever you think of him he has done well to get support across the country in the last few weeks. Would have had more had he kept useless Abbott off the tv and radio though. His core beliefs will bankrupt the UK!
may will butcher services
Labour need either a new breakaway party or a decent leader if they get beat!
I think the problem is a lack of honesty in politics. If we want good public services we have to pay for them, which means higher taxes. Tony Blair and Gordon Brown missed a golden opportunity. They had a big majority and they had the backing of the public to invest in Health & Education, but instead of raising tax they lowered it and put it all on the never never, thereby bankrupting the country and ensuring lots of people stopped trusting Labour with the nation's finances. It has failed but Corbyn manefesto is poor like you I would pay extra tax on my company pension which is not a fantastic amount, but the money has not to be wasted we have two parties poles apart in ideology - there lies the problem!
When you are in the thick of it like my poor health - just been in hospital it was heroes being led by idiots no beds no idea A&E now has to be the cure centre of 99percent of patients - no beds - why not just divert some of the billions in the foreign aid budget for s quick fix neither party will do it social care could then get sorted both parties will not do it - the old saying charity should begin at home a simple act like that could bail the NHS out, and social care in a matter of months - then reacess if we need to be sending funds to the likes of North Korea - India etc etc
The intrangence from the two main parties is incompetence of good financial management!
Credit for what spending money that taxes may not raise the tories have had a bad campaign if Labour had a half decent leader they would gain a landslide win - he started from a low base they were high ok the gap has closed but if you look at the betting odds it looks like we will be stuck with another tory government -Surely you have to give the bloke credit, when the election was called the expectation was of a Tory majority of 100+ and now he has a chance of stopping May getting a majority. We bailed out the banks out but cannot bail out social care or the NHS!I think the problem is a lack of honesty in politics.
