If Everton get knocked out of the FA cup today, should Moyes be sacked?

I want him gone, but to sack him means paying him off.

It means bringing someone in interim, and paying them off.

Even losing today with the loss of 6 key first teamers is an indicator that sacking him would be kneejerk.

Does he need to sort the tactics out? Absolutely, has he got a armoured excuse, yes.

TFG have had 12 months to assess their options and I hope those i. Power are looking over the continent to try and find a new manager, with a bit more attacking nouse. Who may push us on.

Sunderland aren't great away from home even with their good start to the season. But getting beat at home to a side a place or two above you in the PL isn't in itself a sackable offence. Every mediocre side has spells of poor form and we are very much a mediocre side.

People have very quickly forgotten how turd a lot of this squad is on the back of a few good, and often flattering, results.

Our one consistently PL level centre half has been out all season. One is a grok who loses his head half the time and the other seemingly has confidence issues akin to a virgin with a micro-penis at a porn shoot.

We still don't have a single PL level full back.

A 36 year old centre mid with below average possession skills is considered a first team regular.

The strikers are a slight step above Oumar Niasse and would struggle for game time at Wolves.

Yes.

A club like this should always be trying to win trophies and at least getting far as we can in cup competitions.

If we go out today after the LC surrender to Wolves back in the autumn then he should be sacked.

He needs a top ten finish AND an extended cup run to prove he's worth it.

Lose this very winnable game today and his fate should be at least determined for the summer.

He needs more players. Since he took over last January he has, with largely the same squad, taken us away from relegation comfortably in his first half a season. In his 2nd half a season he has kept us well away from that relegation conversation this year. But we still have a very small squad. We needed 2 RB’s in the summer and signed none. We only have 2 Strikers and we have now picked up a load of injuries and suspensions.

We need a transfer window where 4 players come in and no players leave to really flesh out the squad and in the summer there are probably 4 players the manager would want to replace and Coleman will probably retire or join the coaching staff

I didn't mind the league cup exit, as it was near the beginning of the season and we had no idea if we'd be battling relegation, plus the league cup seems to only be won by top clubs these days as evidenced by the last 4. The FA Cup is a different matter, and if we can get through a couple of rounds it starts clashing with European weeks which brings an opportunity to progress. However if we lose the season is over so no point trading in the manager. It will give the senior management time to search for a new manager, get a pre-contract in place, and start trying to get the players in that they want before getting rid of Moyes at the end of the season.

Broadly agree with that.

The remit was top ten finish + extended cup run, I believe. Fail on one and it must be curtains.

If we lose today he'll have one foot out the door. He's been sort of steady and got us in an position where other than some horror run sees us mid table, but his old traits and weaknesses have been very much on show since early December and I'm sure(hope) the texans will have noted this.
