I actually think he should get forward a lot more as he is half decent in and around the box his earlier goals this season against Bournemouth and Split were well taken
Please no, he had all the time in the world to line that up and even then I wasn't sure he would. He's at his best when he can just focus on doing his defensive duties, see earlier this season when he was trying to take on the team's attacking threat, it was horrible.

He and Snides formed a decent partnership today. We really need to add a special player with quality on the ball to compliment him. Preferably someone that is mobile as well.

Agree re the mobility. Personally I hate to see all three of Gueye, Snides and Rooney starting, two of the above will do. We really need a support striker/link-up player so Tosun isn't isolated, together with the two wingers.

I am typically overly critical of players; yet, with Idrissa Gueye I struggle to find much to be critical of. He seems to be pretty clearly our best player:

- With his number of tackles; it’s clear to see he covers the entire pitch tirelessly.

- Tackling efficiency is remarkable with his low number of fouls given away.

- His ability to maintain possession by dribbling out of a press or a double team is incredible; very rarely turning it over.

- Passing accuracy is amazing given that he actually looks to move the ball forward; unlike MS.

- Demonstrates excellent tactical understanding in his positioning both offensively and defensively. He takes opposing LWs that cut in out of the game completely. Always seems to find himself with the ball at the top of the box.

- The only knock against him is less than excellent finishing; he is a CDM though. Should we really be expecting top finishing from him? And you can certainly tell it’s an area he is improving on.

It seems he gets a lot of stick from the fans and I simply don’t understand it. We should count ourselves lucky to have him; especially considering how well he embodies the Evertonian ideals. I’d love to see him given more leeway to lead; perhaps vice captain to Seamus next season.

I love how some fans expect him to run around like Kante winning every ball, then play a pinpoint 40 yard defence splitting pass for our striker to knock in lol

He’s a DM beautiful passes aren’t his game.
