if we're 8th/9th at that time and well clear of any relegation threat that'd be very stupid of him tbh. Look at it from his perspective, this is the most talented squad he's ever worked with. He's never going to manage a team that can win the league and will possibly be his last chance to have a proper go at winning a major trophy.

I fear he might do what you say too, but if he's given the whole of next season here, we'll be looking for top 6 in the league and that'll be back to being our priority again. The FA Cup with us is quite possibly his bets and last chance of winning anything major in his career.
