Not a coincidence in the first half, when Schnerderlin and Gana were on top form. They just controlled the midfield. Let's hope they can maintain that standard over the forthcoming games.

If Scheiderlin and Gueye can control the midfield against City and Chelsea away I'd be very (and pleasantly)surprised. But, what they are well capable of is making it very tough for the same said opposition.

I would be delighted too if they managed to gain control of the midfield against those two teams. In all seriousness, I was just delighted to see those players replicate their form from last season in that first half. Schnerderlin in particular has been very quiet in pre season.

Im going to watch him with interest this season, like last season he started brilliantly, but faded, i wonder is does his all action high energy style deplete his energy levels as the season goes on.

Yes and i know he went to the AFCON in Jan.

Dont think he can play in any other way. But all players every one of them have some dip in form over the season. Afcon made a difference alright. Europa might in this one

We may struggle to hold onto this fella next season. Can see him sliding nicely into just about any midfield. Will be important to get a new deal signed for this fella thus season.
I think he might be enjoying the revolution with us to be honest.

Gana is ours...

Thought that was almos the best I have seen Morgueye play. Didn't step in each other's toes, take each other's space etc. Morgan won his fair share but played the distribution game beautifully with Gueye pressing and winning well. Was beginning to think they couldn't gel but deffo think they can. With Siggy, Davies, Klaassen why can't we win a midfield battle. These guys don't have to stand back for anyone.

Probably a stupid question but would he play anymore games in an AFCON then he would in the same time frame compared to our fixtures? Surely the flights there and back can't sap players that much? I know he has to contend with the heat but he was born there and probably returns a few times a year. He must still be used to it
